Short answer: yes, partially.
Long answer: Some songs might play in adventure mode. I don't know which triggers are used in adventure mode. I have not taken the time to figure it all out.

If you want you can edit "installed_mods/simon_swerwer_soundtrack/objects/music_d.txt" and add the tag [CONTEXT:ANY] to songs. (If a song already has a context, edit it instead). That will make sure that they can play at any time.
You'll have to create a new world with the mod after this do the changes will have effect.

I did my best to keep the quality of the audio as good as possible. It was the main reason I did this mod. But DPh Kraken deserves praise too. My contribution were to export higher quality audio files. DPh Kraken made the mod files needed to add the soundtrack to the game in the first place.

Does this add these songs into the mix or replace the OG music? The tavern song is quite the banger but I really like this music too!

As of right now, DF mods are enabled per world at worldgen, there is no official way to enable mods post world creation. This might change in the future, but we don't know if or when it will.

I'm having a strange issue - the music sometimes after playing seems to fade out, then fade back in, and then fade out again, before playing another track (with full length this time). This happens to both vanilla and mod tracks. I'm on v50.13 - could it be that the game is trying to play a full track like an interlude?

When I made this mod, the SoundSense mod used tracks from the original SoundSense tool that were used in combination with Dwarf Fortress before the steam release. Those tracks were degraded MP3s of Simons tracks. Also they had a lower volume compared to the vanilla music in the steam release.

So as a fan of Simon, I decided to make my own music mod with the SoundSense mod as a starting point, focusing only on Simon's music, so I named the mod after Simon. The tracks were downloaded from Simon's website in their original FLAC format (very large files with high audio quality). I then exported the tracks to Ogg Vorbis and normalized the volume to match the music already in the game.

The preview vids in this mod page are videos from Simon's own youtube channel. The audio in the videos is compressed with youtube's compression algorithm, so they don't sound exactly the same.

How does this differ from the original SoundSense mod you used as a template? They both seem to add 20 Simon Swerwer tracks that were originally part of DF. Preview vids for the other sound like mostly live music, while previews of this mod sound non-live. Is that the difference? Or am I imagining things lol.

3. This mod focuses on music. It is possible to add sound effects for announcements, but I have no plans to do it for this mod.

2. Did devs fix the issue/bug you've mentioned above (about loading music mods)?
3. Not sure, where to ask, but is it possible to also add combat sounds? I mean in LNP combat/sparring related events/announcements also have sounds and I really miss that in current steam/game state and I am wondering is it possible to add those?

I don't have any real plans to expand my own mod's listing, since the Swerwer songs were the gems among the soundsense pack
I guess there's the adventure mode contexts that are as of yet unnanounced? So I can't really plan much other than just brainstorming things like Encounter playing during a fight or Cuggan's Cove on a beach.
A lot of fan soundtracks for DF out there, so there's a lot of material for other modders to get to (hopefully respecting IP and the creator's wishes). Would love to see the workshop flourish with the new (and thus unpaved) sphere of sound-modding.

As I am writing this, it's the same music.
I put effort into getting the original FLAC files of Simon Swerwer's music and properly converting them to Ogg Vorbis with matching volume and audio quality compared to the vanilla music tracks. There are some differences in the configuration of when the songs play, and I will probably update this mod with changes to this configuration to make the songs play as I see fit. My goal is to have the songs play as much as possible.
I have no plans to include other songs or sounds that was part of SoundSense previously. It's purely Simon Swerwer's work in this mod. I don't know what DPh Kraken is planning for their mod.
