Why were people upset at this mod being named the tower? When the other mod isn't even released yet (just being a concept,) and, it's not like other regions have no had incompatibilities before. I feel like it's just because a popular youtuber is involved, and status precedes everything else. Perhaps i'm missing something.

4 months into 2024 and no updates on this mod while Daszombies wants to add custom creatures.

Heads up to anyone with entirely too many regions like me this mod and "Sky Tower" are incompatible as they use the same connection on the wall.

TT isnt claimed by deadlands, its by another The Tower mod which its already out there and TO has been claimed and published for a while, it doesnt take that long to do "cntrl + f"
Also pretty ironic you mock Deadlands, even if its management its terrible it does serve as a quarry for better modders to find talented ppl and encourage them to work on more promising projects. Thats at least some sort of usefulness which brought stuff like Metastasis to us

My two cents? While the drama is overblown, this region mod does unfortunately share a name with Daszombes' "The Tower" concept, which much like the Deadlands has been claimed by a user for future development. I would recommend changing the title to something like "Communications Tower" and the region acronym to "TO."

I'd like to download but the flippancy with which the creator seems to treat incompatibilities makes me worry it may not work with other regions so I'll give it a miss.

I played through the region and I would say its pretty decent for a first region. There were a few times when i had to get a spear to progress or use rock throws to cross a gap. the very top of the tower is inaccessible without like 3 spears though and I was kinda bummed about that. I saw you mentioned you didn't get help when making the mod and I searched the logs and saw you posted in quick support, which sadly does not get much traffic. try modding-dev or modding-design next time and people will actually see your asks for help. I would recommend changing the acronym since TT has been claimed on the lease for quite a while now, and its just kind to respect other peoples claims.

What does that have to do with any information about mod development here aside from just being mean

You are overestimating the average workshop user dedication, there is a reason Guardian collects logs automatically from your computer and why CRS recently allows to manually set load order. People cant be trusted to do the right thing, your mod has to work perfectly with a single download click, otherwise lots of people will just say it doesnt work and refuse to elaborate.
Unless your mod is popular, a incompatibility will make ppl not try it out

do you think players of such a hard game will have a hard time finding out the ability to turn on and off mods, finding logs and just simply use some logic to understand that having a lot of mods activated will cause some issues

@co0ps535 the player will never know what the issue is, if they install your mod and they have an incompatible mod laying arround without much use, they will say its your mod's fault because acronyms are literally invissible to the player, modders already have to deal with fixing their mods, they dont want some people to arbitrarily decide "your mod doesnt work, please fix" because they didnt bother disabling one of their 80 simultaneous mods, thats why Guardian feels like magic for some people, how something as simple as disabling mods they didnt even remember they had enabled can fix so much stuff.

Jeez, I am shocked at how toxic the region modding community is, like what is this "If you are working on a smaller mod which ends up being incompatible with a larger mod - your mod is effectively defunct . Nobody will download a new region if it prevents them from accessing a 12 region expansion." Like come on, people can just turn off some of the regions. I feel sorry for you and the fact that some people are real assholes

Please, please for the love of god just change a couple things about the region. The name, the acronym, everything. Your region needs a lot of support and things changed and you REFUSE to help! I had to go through talking with a person who owned the mod "burger king" because I wanted to use a connection he had claimed, please just be nice to other people.

not being found =/= being ignored. People isnt omnipresent, also the academy server exists for a reason.

i saw people being ignored literally in quick-support and mod-dev channels in the official discord server

idk where you are asking for help but i always see people getting the assistence they need, unless you consider "if you have no coding experience, learn C# first and return later (link to Wschools for C#)" or "no, i wont make this mod for you" not helping somebody in need

a very talkative community has ignored multiple new modders even when they were right there in the chat with people talking
im starting to think you guys just dont want any new mods to release

Also connecting 2,3,4 or infinite regions to the same room is possible if the mods coordinate, so unlimited regions is still possible if people communicate with each other and have proper formats.
