This just causes my game to crash on launch, even though other combat anim mods work fine when I use them instead of this. I suppose it does have some mod conflicts.

there is a funny bug to this mod that wouold make some corpses to die with a crouching animation if they were killed while crouching in the smoke bomb they create lol

Maybe you should port or recreate combat animations from Empire, Shogun 2 and Rome 2 for example :
Glaive, Spear/halberd : Shogun 2 Yari animations
Jian/Dao animations : Empire sword and Shogun 2 katana animations
Double handed axe/ Zhanmajian : Shogun 2 Nodachi animations
Jian and Shield/Dao and shield : Rome 2 sword and shield animations
Spear and Shield : Rome 2 spear and shield animations

Just a note, i've tested this on a replay vs a few other animation mods. This is indeed has the most lively battles, but it perhaps does affect balance of general duel battles as in a duel with zhang fei winning handily, this mod has him lose the match up in my particular replay - so be wary. Also the AOE changes of those few units seems to make them insanely strong as you would expect.

It's truly unfortunate that the shield units are lacking by comparison also.

For whatever reason at least testing on replays, the AI decides to engage the battles differently, the units clump into smaller fights rather than one big clump of multiple units which is certainly livelier, hard to say why or how this would affect actual gameplay without doing some more comparison testing.

It does go to show I believe this mod will make some balance changes though as others have mentioned.

Also the mod feels a bit janky. I get some graphical glitches when zooming out during certian animations. Also I see not much difference when it comes to regular units. Seems the biggest different is the animation chance for glaive units.

Animations does a lot regarding battle balance. It's rather underestimated how much it really affects.

Hi Hecleas, in 3K some animation determines if the splash attack can knock back, damage, or even ignore the enemy's melee defense. Many hero's attacking animations ignore the enemy's melee defense when attacking a multiple entities unit, so changing it might affect the battle balance.

Great mod, did you add completely new animations or just animations in the game added to unit?
