I also had a lot of back and forth but got past it. Then as the Americans I got hung up crossing the bridge. There's a little dip in the bank to the left of the bridge- the opposite side of the placed 88. My American squads would get hung up there and shoot without much effect and not really try to cross the bridge. Even when I could clear the other side temporarily with the 88 or a marksman they'd stay stuck in that spot.

No matter how many times I would capture a point, the enemy just recaptured it the minute I went on to the next point.
