False, they were trained as Garrison units, they commonly were not put out in combat, but they were given lots of freedom and also trained with men, and were known for being the most beautiful women in history, the queen of Troy was a Spartan women, and they did know how to fight, so if a force was on it's way to Sparta and the main armies were killed, women were the line of defense.

Women in Sparta could
A. Own Property,
B. Had rights to their own health,
C. Were not used as baby making machines, they were able to enjoy intercourse,
D. They were educated, a thing that was uncommon for anyone and especially women during this time period,
E. They had opinions and could share them,
F. They had great government power,

Learn history bud, not all nations were strictly anti-woman,

Is it or are they not recruitable anymore. I went back on an old save had them but could not recruit them. I even started a new campaign but i don t see them in the recruitement options. Is it just me or are others having problems with this ?

I think the body armor of the Gladiatrices might work. If you mix it with Greek style helmets, shields and greaves you would have a nice heavy female hoplite unit.

Indeed, fair points sir. The spartan DLC added more helmets, and shields as well. I suppose i'll blend those in. Armor that works with females however is going to be tricky

Or you could bascially create two female Spartan units.

1) A "light unit": An update to the already existing unit [just with reduced morale, additional shield patterns and a more appropriate unit icon]

2) A "heavy unit": A new unit with additional breastplate armor and more helmet variations and higher armor & defense stats.

I like the idea of your female Spartans. It's a fun unit. However I have a few suggestions that would improve the unit a bit IMO:

1) I think their morale is way too high with 100. I think a morale of around 70 would be more appropriate [the male units just above and below them have a morale of 65 and 75. So 70 would be perfect IMO.]

2) I think there should be a few more shield patterns. It would make the unit visually a bit more appealing, if there are more than just bronze shields.

3) Most women in the unit don't wear helmets, but those who wear helmets all wear the exact same helmet. IMO it would be nice, if there was at least a second type of helmet worn by some of the women (maybe one with a crest).

4) Maybe a few of the women could wear somekind of breastplate armor?

5) You should improve the unit icon. The Suebi spearwomen icon doesn't really fit to the unit.

Not to sound pushy - I understand that you might be busy - but any progress with the version I suggested (garrison only instead of a unit you can recruit).

Could you make a weaker version of them that appear as garrison units with maybe a 2 unit cap for armies? Also, they are way over powered in all regards. Their stats make them stronger then "Spartan hoplites". The armor and melee/weapon damage are way to high for a female unit. They don't have armor so the stat should represent something similar to militia or light hoplites; similiar to a levy even. Morale is also super high to the point where they were the last units on the field in a custom battle I tested. I would like to see them as a garrison unit with more realistic stats at least if you could produce it. The encourge stat is a solid mark as woman on the battlefield would spur the men to greater effort. As a soldier I can atest to this.

I'd love to see an armored female unit, not like super armored but I know the game has some armor for them somewhere. For Sparta particularily

Aye sir, i see where you come from. And i tend to agree. Though in fairness i can make many versions to please many folks.

There are still some garrison female mods, so if you dont want them on battlefield, dont load it!!! People like me, dont need always historical accurate units, ITS A GAME !!!!! And Rome is not a Law-Book its to have fun!!! So pls dont be sooooooo correct vonVince this is realy boring !!! Dont load it and i play with them on the field, so everybody is happy, and this is what a game schould do, or? Pfff..................look out there is still a mod looks very similar to this and works ony for garrison units ! Sometimes people have different wishes, so let them be !!!!

Like as a garrison mayhap?

I personally think that these units should only be generated when Spartan city is attacked - while Spartan women had fiercome spirit, they did not accompany their men to battlefields.

They should now come from greek_military_main_4 and 5. That's what i set it in PFM, if that doesen't work i'll keep trying stuff

Ok here's the deal! I turned off all mods except yours, it happens the same. Units can not be recruited! It's not a problem only with your mod. The other mode of other makers have the same probleme.Problem is with the last patch
