This trailer is broken

People, they haven't updated this mod since june of 2023.
what makes you think they're gonna fix this? lol.

When you load and unload a car it completely resets its loot inside. It even locks, it's like it completely respawns the car. Sometime it has doors open, sometimes closed, etc.

Is it possible to update the mod so that you can install a car mod on this trailer?

I cannot get this trailer to work. I keep getting errors pointing to Tsar's Common Library and the car produced when unloading is a blocky D26 shell, then the trailer acts like it was never unloaded and perpetually keeps producing these crappy trucks. Any suggestions?

sounds like a mods/multiplayer issue.
i've literally never rolled one of these things, ever.

These things flip over alot. Any way to flip it back?

I can't figure out how to access the hauler inventory. How do i access it?

@Stage - Don't unload them inside your garage, the game won't spawn vehicles inside a building. You can see this happen using a vehicle spawner mod and attempting to spawn one that way. Nor will the game spawn a vehicle on any other level except 0 (ground).

@mtn_flo93 - There's an addon mod to add most mod added vehicles. It doesn't cover them all but it's easy to add any it's missing that you have; as long as you can edit a text file and have basic cognitive abilities (I don't want to assume anything of anyone on the internet).

I have a problem with this mod: the stored vehicles don't spawn after I unload the trailer...just gone.
Anyone else has this problem?

I love this mod it's a must-have, I like to collect cars. Is there any chance of adding a larger one that can move more vehicles to be pulled by the Big Rigs? And for those in to comments saying it doesn't work with other car mods, there is a patch out to help with that!

It works well for some cars, for others not, you can play with it dont worry

So make sure that you remove your vehicles from the trailer before you leave the game.

it only has issues if you leave and rejoin the game with a car on the trailer.
items in the car's trunk, seats, and glove compartment will be deleted.

it may or may not also change the condition of some things, but i'm not sure.

Is anyone having any issues with this mod or does it function alright for some people?

I found the following bug too, spawning the "TrailerAhauler" using "Set Script" when right clicking vehicles in debug mode, the trailer spawns with tent on, unloading it will produce a skeleton of a pickup truck, and won't empty the bed. I added a script into the "ISVehicleMenu.onDebugSetScript" function in "SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/ProjectZomboid/media/lua/client/Vehicles/ISUI/ISVehicleMenu.lua" to fix it, which will empty it when spawning

I've noticed, when using Cheat Menu to spawn one in, it spawns with a vehicle already loaded, but when you try to unload it, it unloads a completely burned/broken model and doesn't actually empty- it continuously spawns a car shell each time you unload it.

yeah that's a reasonable response to a broken mod.

a truck full of incredibly useful tools and equipment.

I have a problem with its appearance, I have already explored all the cities and it does not appear. Is this a bug? Or just a lack of luck?

setItemContainer() doesn't create a new container but attach a reference pointer of the input container. Loading the vehicle up the hauler, the original container will disappear from the world alongside the original vehicle, the reference will then become invalid. The moment you reload the game or move outside the cell of the trailer, the last remnant of the reference will disappear with the memory.

You also cannot store object into table or moddata, what you stores again is reference of the object which will disappear after the game reload or you move away from the cell. If you want to store object into ModData, you gotta serialize it but that is stupid amount of work and ineffective.

If you want to store items of the vehicle, a hidden compartment can be used but that will create weight on the hauler. Alternatively, dump the items of the vehicle on the floor on load and clear the items in containers since it regenerate every time on unload.

Whatever you decide, do fix this bug.

Inventory items are not saved to save file. Inventory is gone the moment game reload.

Guessing this mod is abandoned, cant be found randomly spawning, spawning it in manually crashes the game.

mimicking this functionality would it be possible to say, load a motorcycle in a van or the bed of a pick up truck?

Does this work with Modded cars from KI5?

Why might the trailer wheel appear without the texture?

It would be awesome if some kind of check could be performed when loading cars onto the trailer - To see if there's anything in the car's inventories (trunk, chairs, glovebox?) because this will get reset/rerolled when you load and unload a car. I'm guessing that workaround fix would be easier than actually making the inventories persistent?

Has anyone ever tried to load a modded car and it didn't work? e.g. a Toyota Supra A80 ? It doesn't detect it it seems.

Clearly it is not storing the vehicle you place in it so hot wiring or having things in storage will disappear. when you unload the trailer it is spawning a new copy of the vehicle it was loaded with. The correct vehicle id is : Base.TrailerAHauler

couple things. First just spawn in from the main ui menu as hauler trailer. you should have no issues. Second dont use the repair vehicle function to fix it because there is a hidden component that adds a vehicle to the trailer which endless spawns wrecks when you try and unload it. Use the repair part function on each component to fix it. When the trailer has a vehicle inside it gets the trailer cover imagery. It appears to hold mainly vanilla size vehicles because i could not load the KI5 Hummer to it.

Can confirm the issues James is having so its not just him.
Car locks + hotwiring breaks and some other small issues.

love to mod but issues I have ran into:
Removes hot wiring (not to bad)
will break driver side lock sometimes (really annoying unless moving junk cars for mechanics)
sometimes locks all the doors and truck (kinda annoy especially if you don't have a key to unlock)
happens to both vanilla and modded in vehicles and alot of vehicles dont fit including vanilla ones
hoping iBrRus and MrDanny can fix this cause i really love this mod

When trying to attach a trailer to a car, it gives an error, even on vanilla cars. Can I fix this myself or wait for it to be fixed?

I have found a bug when using the mod '89 LAND ROVER Defender 110
If you load a car that you have hot-wired and then you unload it again it is locked again and no longer hot-wired
which would be really nice if you could load the ISO containers from Workshop ID: 2625625421

I agree with @Titan Guard 100000000000000%. I still can't get this mod to function. The only person that responded was the author of the addons mod to this mod. Just love how mods drop but author doesn't reply or anything. Big thanks to @CarlosRojasCu for trying to help.

Hi, great work, there are few minor details

- All items in truck are erased when download car
- Hotwire is erased
- If you use this with an UNIMOG truck, it will flip (2843855721)

i just unloaded a nice fjord mustang in my fire st base and it didnt spawn :(

would love to see just an updated version of the tow bar mod, so we just turn a vehicle into a trailer itself, anything to just have the car not swerving all over the road for no reason, or smashing the back of the towing car and destroying the hood and engine of the towed car for tapping a zombie

There is 100% a bug that deletes everything in the vehicle if you reboot the server with a vehicle loaded. I advise everyone using this mod to unload and vehicle you have in the hauler before you log off.

I had a power failure irl while playing. When I went back in to the game afterwards everything that was in the GNV 500 was gone. Is there any way to recover it?

Hey, when I spawn the trailer it has infinite car shells in it. Any fix for that? Thanks!
