@Serpent_11 All of the settings are in the mod config, which you can find by pressing a button next to the mod in the mod list. You can also configure it from in-game by pausing and going to the Mod Configuration tab.

That's good to hear! I'll be looking into Fargo's Souls code to see if I can prevent crashes in the config menu, but I'm glad my suggestion worked.

It worked out fine. I was able to change the contents of the bag without issue with a world loaded. I was able to safely load all other mods I was using as well as long as I accessed the config in a world.

This is very strange. Before I attempt to fix this though, just in case your config gets corrupted - if all else fails, keep in mind you can always find the config file in .json form and edit it manually. The file path will look something like Terraria/tModLoader/ModConfigs. I think if you just erase anything related to the faulty items it will work from there.

I'm also running into a crash related to Fargo's Souls/Mutant Mod: https://pastebin.com/ni9nht9q

I configured the starter bag to have a "Battle Cry" item in it. Now every time I go to try to edit the starter bag items in the main menu config menu, it crashes. No other mods are loaded at the moment besides Fargos mods and your Configurable Bag mod.

I see that you suggest below loading in a world with a player and then editing from the settings menu there - I'm going to try that soon and let you know how it goes.

It looks like the issue is coming from Fargo's Souls mod trying to access player data. Were you editing the config in the main menu rather than from an ingame world? If so, you could try to edit it from a world (where a player is loaded) and see if that fixes it.

个人评价:非常非常非常有用的模组。我作为养老玩家,所有不想刷的道具都可以用这个模组开局获得,像是quality of Terraria里面的几个魔杖,Fargo的战争号角等等。而且可以自定义数量,词缀,还是图形化界面(当时建议还是我提的,模组作者已收到就光速更新了,真是恐怖的产能)。所有想要开局类模组的,这一个模组就够了。

Personal Review: An incredibly useful mod. As a veteran player, it allows me to instantly obtain all the items I don’t want to grind for at the start of a playthrough, such as wands from Quality of Terraria and War Horn from Fargo. It also supports customizing quantities, prefixes, and even has a graphical interface (fun fact: I suggested this feature, and the mod author implemented it immediately—truly insane productivity!). If you’re looking for a starter mod, this one is all you need.

I know tha nobody cares, but... My starter bag: sparkling honey (because I have texture pack that changes it into baby plum) and a top hat (because it's cool)

Yeh, it's a (normally) unobtainable item that full heals
In Hardcore it acts as a death defy

I've been utilizing built-in config creation tools to display stat options, so while a custom GUI would be really cool and helpful, it would require completely reworking what I currently have set up. So, in an attempt to assist future issues where you can't find the items you want, I've implemented an item table that allows you to select their icons instead of relying only on language. This table also comes with filtering options if you already have an idea of what you're looking for. Hope this helps.

Are you referring to a gui similar to NPC shop editor & recipe editor? those mods have pretty amazing custom GUIs

really like this mod,it totally satisfy my require of starter bag.I wish there will be a GUI that is more easy to use.As I'm not good at English.so type in the name of item is hard for me,i hope the way of configuring the bag is like:toggle item into a windows and set the number of it.Thx u.

I've got too much going on lately to work on this, but I'll fix it up eventually
I'm not sure why some moditems wouldn't be showing up but it might be a load order issue? that said all the mods I tried it with have worked perfectly, so...
anyway if I ever come back to it, I'll bring back searching by item id and maybe even something else just to make sure you can get the items you want
There's a lot more to starter bags than I originally planned for this mod

When i try to add an item from the mod called "Too Many Accessories", it wont show up in the list.

The mod description says that all mod items are supported, but Vacuum Bags items can't be added to the bag.

In addition to that, i'd like a toggle to force-replace an accessory slot, making sure to label the setting as risky 'cuz of the item deletion it can cause

I've thought about that too, might make another page for armor/accessories
In terms of mod conflicts I can easily check beforehand if those slots are already taken up and spawn them otherwise like with tool upgrades

v1.7.2:
- Added Golf Score & Angler Quest Count to the Character Stat Config

Golf score has no functional effect after 2001(trophy is for some reason NOT sold with exactly 2000 score???), whilst angler quests really have no limits in modern versions

The way vanilla stats and permabuffs work, all I have to do is edit the player's value according to the config and it's done. The problem with modded permabuffs is that I would need access to every mod's own custom player values to modify them. Most mods already have these values inaccessible by default, but even if they implemented a way for me to modify them, this is an example of mod-specific coding, which I am not as fond of working with, as adding support for more mods' permabuffs is a theoretically endless task. Sure, I could find a way to add the Celestial Onion, but if another one came along I'd have to add that one, etc., etc. Hope this is understandable.

A bit of a stretch, but modded permabuffs would be a nice addition to this list(i personally don't think it's an easy thing to add, let alone possible)

A prime example would be calamity's celestial onion.

@L115 I don't play with big mods like that very often so I'm not exactly sure how their systems work for that. In all honesty, I don't want to mess with specific mods - it's much more convenient for everyone if I code this in a way where its features work with every mod universally. I don't think I can really do that with starter bags as they're made a little differently in every mod.

@Eye9 with what I've said in mind, this is the perfect idea for an update! I'm pretty sure I could change each of those values manually after using the starter bag. Expect to see a page in the configs for this in the future.

Is it possible to implement a feature that stops other starter items and bags being given to you when you have this mod? Such as Calamity's starter bag and the Deviantt from Fargo's giving you a bunch of items no longer working? I think this mod would benefit from being able to do that

I've found a solution. I'm experimenting with a feature that allows you to input the NAME of an item (modded or vanilla) and it will find the ID of the item automatically. Best case scenario, I get this out pretty soon and I can combine the modded and vanilla item lists into one.

Unfortunately, I can't think of a good solution to this right now. Modded IDs change every time you enable new mods. Perhaps there's some way I can save what *item* is being referenced in the config instead of its ID. There's not really a good way to detect an item other than from its type though... I'll have to experiment with some stuff. I'm happy I was able to get modded items to work at all tbh

There's also the other issue of being blind to the modded IDs until you actually select one. I'd provide a list of modded items, but that could get out of hand really fast, and there's not a built-in search function to find them easier. At some point upgrading this mod might have to involve redoing the whole thing with custom UI, and I just don't think I have the time for that currently.

I'm not going to leave this mod here when I could still improve upon it, but I can't guarantee any major breakthroughs in a timely manner 'cause I have other life stuff going on
