I figured out the thing! Basically, when war pact is activated, right at the end of the rep sync you can lock the player faction relation. And inside the ally rep changed handler, unlock player faction, do the sync, and lock it again.

Do you mind me uploading an addon for warpact that does this?

Looool I came with the intent of asking if you know of a way to lock reputation when you have a warpact ally, only to see I was already here last year :D

Is it possible to add the transponder to the other factions and cloak for xenon? I tried to, but only got init errors in the debug

Is it possible to make the transponder work as standalone mod? Or make it work without SCA, BUC or YAK faction?
I tried to edit some entries but it did not work, I am not really good at this.
Id like to use it from time to time after finishing empyrean curs plot, as additional reward but I do not want to sync my rep with factions.

Not as part of this mod. It's been so long since I've looked at the mod files for this game that I can't remember if there's a specific place where all final rep is calculated that you could adjust instead of the individual bits you mention. Perhaps a mod already exists to slow it down.

Hello there. Is there any scope to lock my reputation with my chosen ally? As in, my actions for or against other factions would have decreased impact because I am small part of a bigger faction? Vanilla rep gains and losses feel like they are just too big in general and I'd love to be able to just set some multiplier somewhere to slow this aspect of the game down.

I've looked at defaults.xml and yeah cool I can modify combat related rep changes, but the reputation logic feels spread out all over the place, updating all the scripts that can change the player's rep seems like a huge task and compatibility nightmare.

You need to also install the SirNukes Mod Support APIs mod which is linked on this page. It's then accessed via the option menu in game.

Can somebody explain me how i can use this mod, i got it installed in my game, but how do you acces it to choose your faction? i realy have no clue how to do that.
Is there a key combination of something else to use running mods?

You can support multiple, sure. You can only have your reputation synced with one at a time, but you can switch at will.

Not sure if it is just me as I'm running a ton of other mods, but I'm having issues with the cover system not switching to another faction when I enter new faction space unless I leave/re-enter the pilot seat.

how are you supposed to use this mod? my traders basically are repairing any rep loss th antigone take from random events because we share relations and no wars are starting

@Hebrux: That's the dream :) Would be cool. Probably possible with a mod I imagine if nothing else but would be an undertaking.
@Timoruz: I don't believe AI cares about satellite coverage. e.g. they cheat.

Wish Diplomacy was more of a thing in x4 in general, not missions but actual diplomacy where you can declare war or make alliances or trade sectors ect...

I think it would be really neat if this had an in-game way of activating. I.E get high enough rep with a faction, then you can ask the faction representative to enlist.

Thank you. I think I've fixed this now. At least testing specifically with your save file I did and verified it didn't break anything with my own saves or new games. Give the new version a try. You may need to hit the Set button again but probably not.

Thanks! I would have to "pull an Egosoft" and ask you to upload your save somewhere. Too many variables to try and recreate in my own custom game.

Hi, great mod. Unfortunately I have to report the same issue as Baugoti had. I had it on from fresh start though. I am using the Dynamic Wars 6.0 and few other mods, but they dont influence the reputation. Although the fresh start was a custom one with heavily edited reputations and then I "set" the allied faction. If I can help you solve this somehow, you can let me know how.

ok so I started a new game and it works fine.. so something with either my old game.. or the fact I installed and turned it on pretty far into this save. Guess I will complete my current game.. and plan a full make the universe boron game next :)

No, you don't have to keep setting it. I can only guess that some type of error happened where it stopped syncing and wouldn't be able to help much without debug log from it. I use my own mods daily and haven't run into this yet so not sure what's up. I'd try setting it again and go from there for now unless you want to hassle with enabling debug and send me over a log.

Question, I set my faction and it did what I expected and adjusted all my relationships to match the faction I chose. However after that, I gain rep from trades.. or lose rep from attacking ships that the faction was at war with... my rep goes up and down, but my set faction does not. So a couple hours later, my rep is completely different from my faction.

Do I have to constantly 'set' the faction so that it matches all the time?

I am using DeadAir War, but no other mod that affects factions or relations.

Well the pilot change had little to do with it apparently. It was more so exiting the game or to main menu then reloading. That allowed me to initiate the cover system when changing ships. Hope that helps.

Okay. Got it to work on the new ship by allowing the stand-by captain to take the helm for a second and then take over again. Though it didn't catch it when initially boarding the ship.

Seems to be a bug with the cloaking. It was up and running for a while then I changed ships. Cloak didn't work so I figured maybe only affected the initial starting ship. Went back to that one and it doesn't show up again in that one now either.
