@CommanderZhora - have checked it again, and looks like it was my failure - should have sent the spy first. Then it worked perfectly.

was this with a vanilla relic or modded? I have to manually add modded relics for them to work. There are some limitations to buying relics from the ai, like intel level.

I had a weird and inconsistent trade interactions with AI in regards to the relics:
1) there was no variant to buy relic from AI
2) for some reason some AIs had option to sell my relics to them but some - didn't

I assume, problem was in the loading order or some incompatibility?
