To port to b42 add two folders in the same directory steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2977628726\mods\AutoEat\

42 and common. Inside common copy paste media and mod info. Should work.

It works in MP! My only gripe with it is that AutoEat is on by default, it can be annoying when you're trying to save your food in a 10YL game haha. If you added a sandbox option to make it so AutoEat is off by default, that would be great

Let me add to my last comment. I know there's a way to toggle it, and I've used it. More talking about when I've forgotten so I can get a chance to disable it and not waste an ingredient or eat something that's going to kill me.

Needs a cool down. Or an idle timer. If I cancel the timedaction intentionally, I don't want my character to immediately try to stuff that milk I need for a recipe into his face.

Is there any way to combine the automatic can opening mechanic of this mod with your other mod auto cooking? It would be nice to be able to add canned goods without manually opening a dozen different cans and end up not using them when cooking.

Perhaps add a setting option to disable automatic consumption of items in the backpack. Sometimes I want to bring food back to base for cooking, but forget to turn this feature off. The character is more likely to drink the soup from the Cooking Pot in the backpack than the snack in the pocket.

Can you add option to auto eat food from nearby if its cooked. I generally place my stew and roast on the oven. It would be nice if they could eat it and then put the food back in its place. Like imagine im hungry, i will go in kitchen automatically pick something up from counter and eat it.

If it eats on first negative moodle, does it overeat? For example, if the only food is a stew of which 1/4 gives -22 hunger

can you add disable on settings? for some player's that don't like auto eat? cuz sometimes when in fight, they get killed cuz there character eat while killing zombies or shooting specially on qcb

Confirmed working on my dedicated MP server with 300+ mods. Might want to add that you need a Can Opener in order for this mod to AutoOpen canned food. Common Sense mod that allows other items to open cans does not work.

I'm not sure what happened. My character suddenly stopped eating then rapidly starved to death in matter of minutes.

version 1.3 is out
Food high priority is given to perishable food compared to permanent food.
Alcohol is never eaten (to avoid the sleeping tablet incident).
Spice is never eaten (to avoid eating herbs that have other uses).
Food that makes unhappy is never eaten (to avoid eating automatic happyness dumping).
Aiming cancels opening and eating actions started automatically (to soften combat-auto-eat).

@Super Chief Thank you for the report.
I wonder what food could have killed you as bleach and other known poisonous food are ignored, as well as rotten food. If you got more info on it, please share.
When you are runing or in combat stance, auto eat is inhibited. There is a small period in between the switch from running to combat stance that the mod uses to start drinking / eating that is problematic and I gues that's what is bothering you. I'll try to handle that.
I'll have a look at the food selection algorithm to better handle your 'potato' case and the likes.

Was excited to try it but my best character run died after clearing a house. No clue what he ate or drank. Maybe accidentally grabbed rotten food and suffered the same fate as Alphonso. It also ignores food I put in my main inventory and is constantly pulling food from bags that I don't want my character to eat. Will ignore my potatoes and just start popping open sodas and wine from the backpack. Bit of a hassle too when you're in combat and your dude randomly starts eating a potato.

you may wish to add a check for rotten food.
I screwed up and didnt notice my character was auto-chowing down on rotten food, ended up getting food poisining to death. RIP Alphonso Woodcock, Died from eating rotten, frozen food.

My character is always doing something and I actually struggle to gain weight. This mod will help greatly. Is there a way to prioritize certain foods like cooked food so that gets eaten first?

Is there an option to toggle on/off like vanillia drinking? Sometimes you dont eat on purpose to lose weight.
