Once I restored the original on-the-ground biome and tried to summon there, it worked no problem.
Is the Astral Communicator visually broken? If it isn't and you still can't summon the boss / use the item, you might not be in the correct place. The Astral Communicator can only be used in the surface Astral Infection, only if there isn't already an Astralgeldon Slime alive, and only if the Boss Rush isn't active.
Idk why they even make you fight it pre moonlord, as its drops completely trivializes the game up until DOG. Galaxy Kamehameha hard carried.
