@Mawler Amalgamation uses Ability Restrictions to control which ability can be used by a weapon. It doesn't however set prerequisites or make you unable to learn an ability in the first place. I don't know the specifics when it comes to RPGO, but I guess the mod has some ability edits that add in these restrictions. In vanilla, the line that stops the Templar from learning Deflect before Reflect looks like this:
Template.PrerequisiteAbilities.AddItem('Deflect');
If it looks somewhat like that in RPGO, removing that restriction is as simple as deleting that line. You'd only have to find it in whatever file the ability in question is changed.

You can allow more combinations using the config. Just go into XComAmalgamation.ini and add an ; in front of the spec combos you want to allow. Other spec mods have their own blacklists, so make sure you do this in both mods you want to be able to use together.

I really like the potential of this spec, but I would love it if this could work with more options, as it is I can't really get it into my squads very often.

I am only using your class mods, and made sure to download the req's, but I am not able to equip the ripjack until I have the reckoning ability. This is also affecting my Skirmisher{they can equip it, but are having restriction issues for other abilities). Skirmisher cannot train in wrath, or whiplash until they have reckoning, and those 2 come before. I figure that it is probably RPGO messing this up. Is there a way to just remove the restrictions on abilities?

I looked at the code for both the Ripjack and the Reckoning skill as well, but there's no mention of a requirement for one or the other. So it might really be an RPGO thing.
I also noticed that the Ripjack is not a starting weapon in vanilla. Not entirely sure if that has something to do with it, but I think I recently ran into a similar issue where a soldier couldn't equip the Ripjack after equipping something else.
I just updated the mod and it should make the Ripjack a starting weapon now. It requires some testing, but hopefully it fixes this issue.

I have an issue where this class cannot equip a ripjack because "Reckoning" skill is required. Someone said that's from RPGO but it persists even if that's disabled. I know it's not this mod but something conflicting with it.

I apologise for not keeping an update here. They discovered the origin:
It seems the HIGHLANDER is the issue. Specifically with any templar CHANNEL skill and kinds of damage. All skirmisher skills and grappling got caught in the crossfire.

I don't know if someone made a proper fix for this, but afaik this is an issue with using Skirmisher skills over soldiers that were never meant to use these skills. The animation patch helps with this, but these are still only animations. The underlying mechanics are untouched.
May be worth checking out RPGO as I'm sure they have Skirmisher specs as well. Maybe they found a fix for this.

Hello! I would like to report an issue:
recently, using the Ripper class skills, i'm experiencing inconsistent crashes. The skills i have an issue are Justice, Wrath and Whiplash. They all have a chance of crashing, it's more common if the skill kills the targeted enemy.
Just for conscience's sake, I do have skimishes abilities for soldiers animation patch.

Now if I can roll a Marauder - Ripper I'll mostly have a skirmisher haha.
