Does NOT work i have been looking for animals for an hour and found nothing. Its broken and does not work. Do not waist your time. I get this stupid notification to pick up tracts but in no way do i not get any clue or ANYTHING showing actual meat on animals.

Could it be that this mod doesnt work on B41 if you add it to a already created server? My mates and I installed it and we can find tracks from animals but everytime we shot the animal we only get sticks.

in a few weeks this mod will be useless, although it did great even with the limitations of the game still it was really far from perfect user experience.
i'm suggesting you guys to wait for the beta release of the b42, dont even try this mod as i said its far from perfect.
sure it does the job if you really want to hunt ur own game but i dont see any point of walking for hours lookin for traces and in the end all you do is rolling a dice to decide the fate of ur hunt and tbh it feels like its unbalanced for many char builds, i've tried to change the values in code to make it more balanced but its really labour intensive to balance those values to something realistic and fun at the same time for every single type of character build .

When I tried it, the character needed a gun and shells in their inventory to see the hunting options. It doesn't work if the gun is loaded. You have to have some shells or cock the gun on the spot and pull them out before trying it.

Guys like for some reason I can't hunt, am I doing something wrong? Like I click investigate area and I have only fire wood and stones, shouldmt there be animals too? What mods can break this mod?

ok i found a small animal track. i picked it up and examined it, then turned out it was a rabbit track. but what next? the encumbrance is 10000 and i cant pick it up. there's no option to hunt, only grab

Today I was able to hunt a deer for the first time!
Combined with your various mods, I was able to create a harsh survival world.
Raising the difficulty of self-sufficiency rather than increasing the number of zombies makes ZOMBOID more fun.

@SirMalak pick up the tracks, then wait a moment. They will then go back on to the ground in a format you can attempt to track.

I’m having an issue: when I find a track and click on it, the ‘Hunt’ option isn’t there; I can only pick it up or ignore it. Does anyone know why?

I've encountered issues with butchering a wild pig. My group has knives and we even found a cleaver to see if that would work to no avail. Is there a specific item needed to butcher a wild pig or possibly a deer (haven't encountered a deer but I assume it's the same as a wild pig)

:( found a bug where bird tracks endlessly spawn underneath my character every few seconds or so. Not sure what caused it, but even relogging didn't fix the issue.

Honestly a must have mod for longer playthroughs, works well and can make roleplaying situations great in harder playthroughs, 10/10.

How it works:

I have 31 skill points (fitness 8, strength 6, sneaking 7, spear(*2) 8 and outdoorsman trait 2) so I can hunt any animals.
Step 1: If you find an animal track, just put it in your inventory

@Karas_Gaming The mod uses a mathematical system. You have to reach 60 points.You have to reach at least 28 points of these skill if you want to hunt with spear: spear2x (max 20 points), strenght (max 10 points), stamina (max 10 points), sneaking (max 10 points). There is a randomnumber addon between 32 and 60. So if you have at least 28 points and don't have negative modifier, you're able to hunt.

The mod doesn't work, I tried doing it with both spears and crossbows (Using the Kitsune's crossbows mod and a compatch too). Hunted around 20 things, only got twigs and my character is just constantly saying things like "Seems no game today".

My spears and aiming aren't maxed, but I'd say lv 6 for both isn't bad enough to get LITERALLY NOTHING 20 times in a row. Also 9 fitness and strength.

for birds you pick up the "track" then it will drop foot prints, when you see the footprint as a lootable option you right click to have a hunt option. For small and bigger animal tracks you need to investigate first, then same thing

Is there meant to be an option to investigate tracks when you find them? I’ve found a few tracks and only have options to pick up or discard, and when I pick up the tracks they don’t go in my inventory or anything (which makes sense) but I’m wondering what I’m meant to do.

Do I just keep trying to find the same tracks and eventually I’ll see an animal? Or do I need to use the hunting section in the crafting menu to actually start hunting an animal ?

Can you get leather from the animals you hunt?
