i don't know why, but i can't get the game to start with Lua. i had no luck with the command option, so i installed the files manually and still nothing. even installed both client and server and still won't launch the game.

can confirm that running `execstack -s Barotrauma && execstack -s DedicatedServer` does indeed fixes the problems

btw you have to execstack the "Barotrauma" executable, I also did the "DedicatedServer" executable just to be safe

Tried to launch a multiplayer game last night but wasn't able to. Every time I tried to launch the Lua for Barotrauma server, when we loaded into the game, lua wasn't running. For some reason it seems like the game isn't launching the lua compatible .exe properly or something, I don't know.

Game complaining that the executable is fit for version 1.6.19.1 and not yet the new winter update version 1.7.6.0 or 1.7.7.0, along with the fact that the game's NetCode, as prior mentioned in comments, runs as low as 150,000x slower than a person's upload speed is capable of (time-averaged metric of a friend's P2P download of unsubscribed & uncached mods list totaling several hundred MB).

Issues with NetCode erroring out, saying it failed to send data to the remote peer/client, making downloads of mods from hosts with very fast Gigabit+ synchronous fiber optic connections impossible intermittently. Unsure if this is to do with Lua or the game engine itself, but its very common among most servers.

How do we increase the Steamworks.SteamNetworkingUtils.SendBufferSize value from 512kb to something that doesn't throw errors in heavily modded (50+ mods) games?

(okay so I just had a friend download this even though they were on wine)

If you are using wine you should not be using this mod.

if you go to the releases tab you can get builds without having to compile the thing yourself
looking at the crash, it seems to be something to do with the vanilla game now? i dont see anything suggesting the cause of the crash

Building from source works like a charm, though you might wish to add `git submodule init && git submodule update` to the readme. I really wish I knew why Steam won't even attempt to launch the modded executable though. :/

Of course, though if it weren't that would be on the mod authors no? Also, I meant 'vanilla client' not server -- not running dedicated or anything. Specifically none of the mod-related commands are available in the debug console. Apologies if that caused any confusion.

A couple of things:

1. I'm on Pop!_OS and enabling Lua For Barotrauma appears to just run the vanilla server.

2. Running the modded Barotrauma from `WorkshopMods` crashes during load with `Exception: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Net.Quic , Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'. The system cannot find the file specified.
(System.IO.FileNotFoundException)`. The file is right there and is identical to the non-modded version -- no idea what's going on there.
