NPC control in custom games does not work, please solve

thank god i dont have the worm, and i am able to use this mod completly fine. one of my favourite mods so far.

To anyone who claims that this mod does not work for them, I had the same problem. However, I was able to fix it by re-downloading Scrap Mechanic and everything that I had previously subscribed to.

The reason this worked for me is because there was a worm running rampant on the Workshop, infecting various mods and spreading. The worm made it so that all infected mods called to a fake mod database: long story short, this mod was not able to access the real IDs of the NPCs.

Before re-downloading literally everything, I suggest you first try the mod again now that the worm has been removed from the Workshop: deleting and re-downloading the game and every mod took me a very long time, and its better to avoid it if it is unnecessary.

I hope this helps people enjoy this incredible mod!

the mod says the bots do not exist

you should add first person. you could make it work by instead of having separate controls you make it go first person when you zoom in fully.

i tried every bot, the glowbug and woc. it ain't workin' for me, keeps saying it doesn't exist (clearly does lol) do you know why it won't work?

well... did you respawn the bot? aka destroy it and spawn a new one
It only works for bots that were loaded in after the mod - sometimes SM messes up the loading order and so some bots don't work until you respawn them
It's not an issue with the mod, just SM being a bit weird

it does that for EVERY bot or non-hostile. please fix this.

Yes, you can control wocs and glow worms as well! Any vanilla NPC works.

To answer your questions:

- This mod does not work in Survival. The reason for that is that Survival mode uses a chunking system where parts of the world get unloaded if no player is in them, which breaks the mod.

- Other bots do attack you and the bot you're controlling does take damage from others, and if the bot you're controlling dies, it automatically detaches you from it.

Immediately I started thinking of ways to use this like a mech suit to go out into the world in, while my mechanic stays safe at home!
Couple questions: Does this work in survival?
Do the bots you're controlling take damage from other bots?
And do other bots even attack you?

the haybot has a typo . the right click attack says its activated by LMB but its used with RMB
