You are supposed to recognize the character by Design, Voicelines, Animations & the Weapons they use. Etc.
And like i said on anoter item. i would only have a problem with the emblem for these two reasons:
1: If the Class icon of another Merc is on it(Like if you put Soldier's Class Emblem on Medic)
2: If its some sort of offensive symbol.
I've heard maybe one reason why some people are against the emblems being changed and they claim that it messes with class recognition, which doesn't make a lick of sense because:
- All the classes in TF2 are designed to be recognisable from a distance, and there's no way you'd be able to make out a patch on someone's arm from that far away.
- Only 6 of the 9 classes actually have an emblem present on their arm, with Scout, Engineer & Spy being the ones that don't.
-Emblems being changed for cosmetics has been a thing for years at this point and has never been cause for concern, with some even getting into the game, but all of the sudden it's now the wrong thing to do and workshoppers shouldn't do that?
Also what's wrong with changing the class emblems? It's something I keep seeing pop up as the next hottest thing to bring up, but I've never heard a reason that makes any sense.
also the team recognition is limited to the icon and the medics gloves, which arent always visible from certain angles when the medic holds certain weapons
