Getting these mods to work is weird and unnecessarily complicated, but the modders themselves can't do anything about it.
After starting the game, you must pick "Video Settings Editor" from the LAUNCH OPTIONS menu. If you can't pick any launch opions, you must right click "GearCity" in the steam library, choose "Properties..."/General/LAUNCH OPIONS, "Ask when starting game".
You can ignore most of these "Video Settings", only the last tab "Modifications" is important now. Here you can find a pull-down menu called "Selected Mod Files:".
Choose "300Plus_Authentic_AIs", click "Save", then "Exit" and launch the game as usual.
Now it starts with this mod activated. Note, that you can't use save-files, that you made with the original game or other mods and visa versa!

This workshop item is not listed in the mod tools option for launch - and I have subscribed to it.
If you want this to be useful please fix !

@Narwhal: It works on the normal steam version. It does not work (apparently) with the 2nd Gear DLC. If you are using the normal steam version of the game, what you need to do to activate the mod is run the game from Steam, select "mod tools", select the mod, and then launch the game normally. Does this help?

Thanks for the offer, sport.racing. If you have some particular Italian or other marques that you want to get added, let me know. I don't know if or when I will do an update, but I have noticed a few minor things about some of the AI logos that need fixing and could add a few more marques when I make an update.

I also just got an achievement using the mod so it seems that the mod is indeed achievement-compatible.

Thanks for trying. Shame it didn't work with the expansion. Since I don't have it, I guess I can't tell you why it didn't work. I'm aware of the epoch issue. Some of the early logos are not recognisable today. I took what felt "right" for me, considering the game runs from 1900 to 2025. A lot of re-branding has happened to most marques in that time!
