I thought the map was great, good ambience and places where you had to pause to figure out what to do next. I see the experts finding fault with various details but rather than fix those on this one I'd rather see the next in the series.

Nice map and a decent puzzle, thumbs up. Stimich's points are valid (I'd like to know what he'd think of my Hammer map: " Interface (Hammer Version) "; warning : the puzzle is difficult) and I also did not like the invisible barrier that prevented me from getting over the railing of the raised walkway. But, of course, not everyone wants the highest level of polish and maps can be a lot of fun without perfect construction.

thanks Stimich, really, but no thanks. I'm not doing this to get the most awesome maps ever. it's just some summer project for me. in a few weeks the normal life begins again and then I'll have 0 time for this anymore. so thanks for the offer, but maybe I won't even post the second chapter.

The way you've placed some of the junk models doesn't make sense in the rest of the environment, like that big pile of frames lying on the floor, but looking at the rest of the room there's not sign of damage. You also forgot to fix the water brush. There's a unit thick line of nothing right under that bridge, next to the faulty closing door.

There's probably more, but I think this is getting a bit too long. I'd be glad to help you get better, though, so if you want we can add eachother.

You should definitely spend some hours in Hammer before publishing the next map. Unaligned textures, way too many repeating textures, light that shouldn't be there (Use light models then stick a light entity to them so it at least makes sense that there is light there), one badly placed brush. Why are the fizzlers really thick and not thin like actual fizzler?
Vertex portalable "floor" texture where you're supposed to fling.
The grates doesn't make sense. There isn't anything to support them, and it looks ugly. Obvious copy/pasted walls.

One of the vault doors(?) suddenly plays the closing animation as you press the button that opens the exit door.(I figured I broke the map and didn't do a part you're supposed to do.)

oh and Hammer isn't that hard actually. when opening the program it's alot of information that's coming at you, but learning step by step makes it easier.

It looks like you are taking my suggestions. This is definitely better usage of Hammer. Keep trying with each new map you create! You will get progressively better over time.
