I have used this formation since FM 2000. It is good for away games and set up as a good counter attacking option. Unless you have mercurial wing backs (see Alves, Alba, Marcelo, etc.) you will be struggling. Try and practice thet tactic as often as you can against lesser teams when you are up by a bit or cup dead rubbers - make sure all players are as high as they can be in their rating when they are in the position you have put them on - that tends to work a treat.

A big thank you to everyone who has tried my tactic out and possibly stuck with it. Hopefully soon I can bring this tactic to fm15 and hopefully have the same results. Once again thank you very much for supporting me.

@browner ive never really tried it with a lower tier club its a shame it didnt work for you, are you using the same player instructions with your new formation?

@nathprojectgamez, i got the sack from Bristol rovers using it so now with Bath city using 4-1-4-1 and it working well :)

@datguy its based off both the world cup and united version it was successful in the world cup and at the moment not so successful with united but dont let real life results fool you this is a great tactic :) @lAURIDSEN! Hope this is the world cup version, and not the Man U version... Because we all know how terrible the Man U version is.

I am currently playing a 3 5 2, LVG style. I have dropped my CM's back to DM's, one as a DLP and the other as a BWM. I've then pushed the WB's up to WM's and played them as W. Forward from there it is pretty similar. It works a treat for teams playing narrowly, but for teams playing wingers you tend to get caught out, either by wingers driving forward with the ball and drawing CB's out or one winger playing a cross to the far post with the other winger driving in for the finish. I found a good way to counter act this is to have the WM's man mark the wingers. You need wingers with ferocious stamina and work rate, as well as acceptable defensive stats. Roughly 20 games in my season with Bury has turned for the better! LVG, the pioneer! Thoughts or improvements welcome :)

@leartdushi I didnt put player instructions in this version it seems to hold up well without any but feel free to put your own in. @Browner give it a go I havent really tried this tactic outside of the big clubs let me know how it goes.

@tchreezy its called taking advantage of there best stats, Have you seen vidals tackling and passing? it would be a waste to not try implement those stats into the game if you ask me

backing louis van gaal to get sacked this season if he keeps starting with the 3 5 2. its to hit and miss and its a great tactic but all the roles are stupid on the above tactic e.g. rooney as an AF wtf and van persie as a poacher - ok he can play there but let him be free as a CF this is why it annoys me and vidal as a DLP in defense etc God save me if there is one

I made a similar formation in my pne season. It works a beaut, I played cbw at right back and left back(not wing backs) and the exact same layout in midfield and attack just different rols(ap,cm,am,af,dlf). Great minds :P

@JRM subscribe on here then go in game onto main menu then go to downloads then steam workshop and install the tactic then when you are in your game go to your team tactics screen and go to archived tactics and it will be there hope this helps mate.

I might try this, played an attacking version of 4-1-3-2 last season came 4th and nearly lost my job, though I saved myself by beating chelsea 5-2 on the opening day. Though I won the world cup with England using my 4-1-3-2. Looks Like I got a choice to make.

how do you download it?

It works well in pre season but then I get outclassed by Swansea. Most realistic tactic ever.
