you really don't need to spam your shitty map under other people maps comments. If it's good enough people will use it. You know that, right?
- Switch to multiplayer.
- Change slot.
- Go back to single player.
The game doesn't randomize them.

Would it be possible to start the game from Ancient Era and historical placement of major and free peoples that way so they wouldnt need to rely on spawning?
Or maybe there is an option where free people spawn rate can be dialed up like in Europe and Asia? Thought I doubt the map editor is so advanced as to mark regions for spawn rate like that
In general I prefer playing with bigger territory sizes. I added slot 9 and 10 in the Americas in this version, but I originally had them in an "Old World" style with the Americas empty. I made the territories big there, especially in the amazon, to avoid making them too populated (like planting 3 cities in there as the combination of forest and rivers give amazing food and industry yields). Basically, using size to make the inhabited areas of the world (deep jungle, artic) less likely to be filled. In any case, I'll be making some tweaks to the map.
BTW, it's extremely easy and intuitive to tweak the map in the editor to adjust regions to your liking, let me know if you want some pointers =)
No, that's code controlled, and you can't place minor civs in the map as if it were an scenario. I'm doing a mod that tweaks lots of things (especially making IPs more dangerous and harder to take), but I think I can't control the rate of appearance too much.
Would also consider placing another major faction start position around France so taking the entire European continent is a struggle
If region sizes do not need to be identical on the map I would consider operating with the smallest regions in European continent so its more difficult to spread there while keeping the game balanced with defacto larger continents having larger regions. This of course assumes the game allows for regions with varying sizes
Sadly the number of nations is limited by the game itself: would it be possible to place a ton of Independent Peoples on the map to slow down Ancient Era expansion and provide opportunities for fighting?
