Why would you want to turn it off? If you hear beeping = bad. What might be funny is to add a seatbelt system and if you aren't safely clicked in, it starts beeping as well.

This mod is obsolete in B42. If you open a car door using the vehicle mechanics (which you have to do when putting a generator on a seat now) you will hear a noise telling you the car door is open if the car engine is switched on . The same applies when you open, and get inside a door, you will briefly hear the same sound.

This mechanic works for vanilla cars, and mods that use vanilla templates like Motorious Zone ) - I do not use custom car mods, so I can not vouch for those. If they do not, you'll need to talk to their authors.

As for B41's "I got in the car too quickly, and got bit coz apparently the door remains open" issue - I believe this was removed/fixed in B42, as this no longer appears to happen.

I can safely say this mod has been abandoned, so use JennsyVonnar's version to get rid of the annoying sound.

I'll give this try thank you, being bitten through a car door that seems closed is so annoying i got lucky and dodge a bullet already, sometimes i swear the door just bugs and opens it self after getting in, even if i don't do anything like accelerate or perform a action like opening my map.

although i got a big mod list so hard to tell if I've induced this myself although other than just adding popular well known vehicle mods i have nothing that changes the way doors or cars are handled.

if the door is uninstalled it beeps which is annoying

Would be sweet if you could choose in the mod options which doors trigger beeping. Can't be bothered to be closing and opening the trunk every time since you never need to keep it closed normally.

I wish there was options you could enable for this, like being able to disable trunk beeping only, because I use a Hummer from K15's pack with the trunk lid and cap removed, basically its a truck, but I constantly get that beeping because of that, and I don't want to mute all of it, just the trunk because I love hearing it with the doors being opened or if I leave the hood up with a lesser model since you can't physically see it being up, like the doors as well.

I am interested in using your mod in my server. A friend of mine took your mod into a solo game to try it out. It initially worked perfectly but then he turned the dinging sound off and now it's not working in any car he gets into and he can't figure out how to turn the sound back on. However, he said the icon is glowing now.

I looked through comments but may have missed it. How do we turn the sound back on? Is there any way to maybe code it to where it only shuts the sounds off in specific cars via their car ID?

The speed of the beeping seems to be linked to FPS.
When zoomed in you have more FPS (lets say 144) this results in faster beeping, when zoomed out you have less FPS (60 for example) and the beeping slows down.

Really like this mod, but the car door indicator is still active, even when the car's battery is dead / missing. Are there any plans to address this in future updates?

I am using "Nepenthe's Colored Engine Status" mode. When used with this mode, the engine's notification will not work. Is there a way to fix it?

Car with no doors? Don't want to hear the trunk beeping? Right-click the indicator to mute. It's in the description, folks. =)

in big servers it may be useful but in singleplayer/coop it makes me go insane

Vehicles with no doors like Halo M12 Warthog will ring all the time, otherwise it's a great mod.

I want to have alarms for the trunk and hood, but turn off the alarms for the doors. Could you give me an option?

It shouldn't be going off, might have changed when I added the missing doors stuff let me check.

hey, im currently using Autosars bikes and am having some trouble with the constant beeping, I saw you said there was a way to turn it off but can't find the setting anywhere in server settings or mod options, any help would be appreciated :)

@O² I didn't consider this, I've updated it to alert even when doors are missing as I think this is more realistic.
Also added a feature to mute the alert in case this is too annoying.

@Mcloce @Seru This should work with any other Vehicle mod as long as they are using the default names for the doors, and doors are correctly connected to seats in the vehicle

For Motorcycles, I tested this against Autotsar Motorclub, and found that none of these have doors at all (this is probably expected for Motorcycles)
This mod won't conflict with mods like this, but won't actually trigger for vehicles with no doors

One thing that is not supported fully is if the Vehicle has multiple Hoods or Trunks, this will only alert on the first Trunk/Hood that has the same standard name.

i.e. will alert if Trunk is open, but not if Trunk2 is open etc
