Also if you really do not feel like more military/tactical-focused gear is not appropriate for other classes, even though everyone in this game is a mercenary working for a private military, would that mean people who like to dress the mercs in this game to their personal likings & express themselves in this game are doing it wrong?

Everyone is entitled to play this game to their personal likings and have their preferences to cosmetics, and guess what? Some of those people have very varied opinions on what they want to see added to the game compared to you.

Also I feel like a dude who's main role of being a combat engineer would warrant him wanting to seek out some proper protection against gunfire and explosives? Especially for his position on the team of almost constantly being underfire by pretty much everyone on the entire opposing team.

Wouldn't THAT be a good excuse to plate up?

Obviously there is more to each merc than 1 stereotype/personality trait but staying in what's reasonably something they would say/wear keeps them themselves. And yeah obviously spy wouldn't wear something bulky like a vest like this but what I meant was undercover agent tactical stuff, ya know? Kinda like those nigh-vison goggles cosmetic that got added recently.

If everything that Engineer is a Texan bumpkin then:
Scout is just an annoying jock
Soldier is a crazy guy with military gear
Pyro is a MLP fan
Demo is a Scottish drunkard
Heavy is fat
Medic is a crazy scientist
Sniper is an Australian “cool guy”
And spy is well… a guy in a suit

If we were to hold onto these stereotypes for the last 13 years the community content was being accepted into the game, there would be no variety and I’d be called out for yet another cowboy hat.

@Jimmy Buffet but like wurlmon said: a Bulletproof Vest would only slow him down, and engi also can have armor. You think that Spy and Demoman are the only ones that can have vests?

I'm just saying that all the people who like to comment on what they do and don't want seen in TF2 all have very varying opinions that contradict each other, especially in regards to everyone's stance on what fits the game's 'artstyle and timeframe'.

Especially since tactical gear that isn't over cartoon-ish doesn't fit the look TF2 goes for in it's art style & time frame

@Extra Ram military/tactical cosmetics would be nice but that type of cosmetic only fits classes like Spy & Demo mostly. Engineer being the texan bumpkin he is doesn't really fit with swat- type tactical gear

ehh honestly this fits the spy more than the engineer, just way to out of character
