I made some adjustments after I made this, so I didn't update the description. It wasn't because I couldn't tell which colours were which.
You also named a colour that is literally in one of the photos that I accounted for. Unless the developers changed the colours of something since I last updated this, I don't know why you would even say that.
Regardless, I've updated the description to be as accurate as possible, for now. I hope this clears up any confusion for anyone - especially for people like ROBOT 1:1.
Well maybe not because ever since the update that added that audio cue when in a capture zone, you can use that same audio cue or something similar to that audio cue for the hot/cold mechanic. Plus this can be seen as a challenge of sorts for the modding community, I once thought for the longest time that if you wanted to mod music into a game it could only be done one file at a time but the Left 4 Dead 2's modding community was able to get around that limitation when someone in that same community came up with some tech that allowed for multiple music files to be associated with a single file via RNG, it's not being widespread but it's getting used over there every now and then.
Maybe something to consider for a future mod type, or maybe even going further by having some kind of hot/cold mechanic associated with the randomized salvage crates, let's be real about one thing, the contracts in the game the amount they payout factors in if salvage crates are on the map or not, just doing the objectives will not net you the payout you see in the paperwork.
I would actually love to do something similar, but it could prove to be pretty complex for me. I might see to it at some point anyway, but, for now, Stacked Crates would be your best bet.
Thanks for your thoughts!
As for issue with it blending in with the map environment, is it possible to just give it an icon on the radar?
