Are you sure it's Real space system scale that changes the ranges?
I tested on my side with only my mod and real space + real space system scale activated and I didn't notice any change in range for vanilla weapons. And the fights are about the same with vanilla weapons and color cannons.
I will need to know what is the mod that changes the ranges so that I can create a compatibility patch
I will create a tutorial for changing weapon stats shortly.

normally it should be compatible with everything.
Can you explain why it is not compatible?
in this origin i had the idea to lock out kinetic cannons and missiles/torpedos except for the energy based torps/missiles but the origin gives a +25% to Energy Production as the weapons use energy as a base much like how ships eat into alloys for maintainnence my point for this is the gas used to create the plasma packet fired out of the cannon
or better still an origin and i had an idea of one called "Une Lumière Fantastique" which translated from french is "A Light Fantastic" the premise being that as you hit the stars properly the technology of the player world progressed to the point that kinetic weapons like bullet firing guns became obsolete and so instead of how the galaxy went traditionally with the kinetic weapons your race went for the flashier more energy demanding technology.

I'm afraid you have to be content with civics for the moment, I don't really want to start writing a script for the moment.
Maybe in the future.
I added civics to define the color.
I find that this is a solution that lacks elegance, but it is the compatibility friendly solution

Want to thank you for this mod. I made a video using it.
Just for the benefit of others it might be an idea to show one or two pic's of the stats of the weapon components at least so people have a feel anyways.
Best thing to tell you and download it and test for yourself.
The thing that I noticed is that the searches happen too quickly for my liking. I will definitely change that later.
Afterwards I don't have the impression that the weapons are too powerful.
In addition the AI also uses weapons so you will fight on equal terms.
