Unfortunately I may have wiped my windows install while trying to save my main setup so it will probably be a while before I can resume development on this mod.
I have added that request to issues page on github so whenever that happens I should be reminded of your request.

Huh, kinda reminds me of the bloodstains from the soulsborne games. always a delight and a terror to see, but not as useful since rainworld doesn't have predictable spawns...

I am fine with that, Gaming_Bigfoot: if you want to make a discussion page, just make it.
If I find it to be a massive problem (which seems unlikely: surely I could just unsubscribe from notifications in that case, right?), I will simply make a post linking to a new discussion outside of this mod page (if possible) and explain why I did it, before locking the original discussion.

I'm with Stupid, by default there is a limit of 50 vestiges per room. The vestige lifespan is also 4 days by default.

It will be updated soon Increative, I just haven't gotten around to:
- getting out my old laptop
- rebooting it into windows on a slow external disk
- mounting the user folder on my main computer (which, unlike my old laptop is fast enough for development), so I can access the visual studio project from my main computer
I have been preparing to move from mac to linux (and of course when that happens I won't need to do the ridiculous steps above), but it's still going to be a while before I am ready as I need to find/make alternatives for most of the programs I use.

Fuyuno, unfortunately api limits (as well as limits with google sheets itself) make having a vestige lifespan of infinite impossible.
While I might be able to get away with increasing the lifespan to something like half a year without any issues, it would potentially put me at risk of having everything break for an entire month if there was ever a large spike in activity (and it could potentially impact any other unrelated scripts I have running on my account).
Personally I don't understand why anyone would want an infinite lifespan: every room would eventually reach the vestige limit and it would make downloading/processing all the vestiges take so much longer.
That being said, I do make monthly backups of the vestiges at https://github.com/FrostBird347/VestigeBackup and thus technically could add an option to also download and use those in addition of the spreadsheet currently used.

I haven't written a tutorial on how to get the entry IDs, but in summary you need to:
- open up the form in your browser
- enter different data for each question
- open inspect element's network tab, making sure "preserve log" is enabled
- submit the form and get the entry IDs from the request

Katrina, nothing has changed with the forums. It's possible that I changed the name of the variable that stores the google form url, or the entry IDs, which could have reset them to default.

Was there an update in the last 8 months or so that changed how the Google Form should be formatted? It seems no matter what I do, I can't get it to send data to my Google Form for this- but it can still read my Google Sheet just fine. It was working ~7-8 months ago, though, when I last played.

Actually, a far better workaround would be to just change the upload ID (note that to re-enable uploading you would have to set the value back to what it was before)

TheGreatGreenStar, I can add such a feature in.
For now though, you should be able to work around this issue by simply disconnecting from the internet or blocking rainworld if you have a firewall after the vestiges have been downloaded.
I am curious what mods you are using that could spam a large quantity of deaths.

Would it be possible to either add a "temporary offline" or stop uploading deaths thing? I like to see the death dots, though I don't want to spam like 80 deaths at once into some area with a ton of mods reworking "death" that could cause it to be spammed.

I don't have jolly on and my PC is quite potato-tier as well - I typically lag in parts of sub as-is due to creature density. When you add the lightless option I will see if that helps, thank you. To clarify it was happening in multiple areas - even in rooms with no creatures present. :steamthumbsup:

Dakras I do also have the quality settings on lowest, so it might not be nearly as bad for me because of that. I will add an option to not give vestiges lights in the next update, which might help (it is the only thing vestiges have that I could see changing depending on the graphics settings).

Dakras that's quite strange because the device I actually run Rain World on is really, really low spec and I don't remember ever noticing a massive performance impact when it reached the default max count of vestiges (50). Currently you can change the vestige spawn limit to a lower number in the remix menu.
I will look into this more when I have enough time, however I will point out that due to a bug if you have multiple jolly coop players in the same room vestiges will get updated 2-4x as much as they should be, which could impact performance (in the last update I fixed a bug where slugpups were also speeding up vestiges, but that fix doesn't apply to jolly coop slugcats or slugpups yet).

mariomakerguy I could do that, however I would have to add a bunch of additional systems to work around the issues that would come with it (e.g making sure deaths aren't logged multiple times, storing every single player related variable sent before the death screen appears, making sure jolly coop deaths are actually logged when only one player is grabbed and the other sleeps, etc). So if I decided to implement that change it would take a while to do.

Not to be nitpicky, but wouldn't quitting out of the cycle while alive be a better indicator of give-up-death than getting grabbed?

So far me and Greg -->:rwscavenger: have saved each other a lot. he saves me from a red lizor I save him from a vulture he saves me from a king vulture I save him from a pack of yellow lizor + a vulture. It happens a lot more then you think!

I learned that earlier yesterday when a red lizor climbed into my shelter and murdered me for the next 4 times i tried to get out. he kept moving trying to chomp my head off again and luckily the 5th time Greg-->:rwscavenger:<-- decided to drop in and say hi! And he saved my life.

Douknodefox if you sleep with an aggressive creature (such as an untamed lizard) and don't leave quickly they will wake up and eventually attack you.
