Assume this is like the sausage palm, vegetarians won't eat it since it seems like animal produced meat.

Dude, no need to jump the gun. He just asks if this meat can be eaten by characters who are vegetarians in the game, or if it's still forbidden for them. Like vegetarian nonmeat "steaks".

I found a new solution to have both plants in the game, if turn the field research on for meat plant and you have to first observe it then you unlock the normal barrel cactus and when research the tech in research tab you will have both.

Okay I have tested this and my mod a bit further and it definatly replaces all ingame models with mod model and thus resource barrel cactus gives is gone, unless people modify the meatplant and add the barrel cactus fruit as resource to the meatplant as well. I hope the developers see these posts and will try look into it.

Ok, here is a solution for plant mods, when start a new game keep them turned off, once you observed the plants, then turn on the mod and you can research it and have both plants. You can also turn them on in an excisting game, to have more food sources.

I guess Ill fix that later like melissa did. Will now try few times more to see if both spawn or only the mod ones.

I just seen it too, I made a mod myself with new fruit, using prickly pear as example and when I started the game with this mod on and mine, both where in game but replaced all the regular ones, I found only meatplants and my dragon fruit cactus plants instead.

As soon as this was researched the game crashed.

At first try I had too, but later every time I gone to the desert, I couldn't find the barrel cactus anywhere. Maybe I am wrong, but if this happens with anyone else, easy to solve the pronlem, just need to modify in the mod, that instead of giving 20 meat, it gives 10 meat and 10 cactus fruit too. I did that for myself.

I don't have this issue in my game, I have both Barrel cactus and Meat plant.

The problem with this, that overrides the barrel cactus, which doesn't appear if this mod is on, and then the cactus fruit is missing, which needs for the Dromadda to tame.
