@Mr. Camel Half-Life 2 Spoiler: In half-life 2, this was the last map located in Ravenholm's chapter, so it was titled d1_town_05. Then, he removed the props from it, but because it was originally d1_ town_05 , he had to make the map's name be gm_town_05. It also comes right before the Coast levels , which comes right after you exiting Ravenholm, and passing through the short, last part of Ravenholm. There you have it, the reason it's titled gm_ town _05.
