Also works great with the Skill Queue mod, makes it that much easier to make a skill queue plan for a hero/lord type without having to remember taking mentor every X levels.

thanks for this mod. I was wondering if you can do a similar thing but make the rest of the top line of skills all auto skills? seems like CA is very slowly making that a thing already... but waiting for them sucks

@ Pimpin Pippin exactly it uses the same system for mounts and immortality to grant you the mentor skill at the appropriate levels. Also like @ Think Critically told you, that txt file is used to make a change to the pack file so steam lets us modders update the mod when no actual change to the pack is needed, you can safely ignore that. 

@Pimpin Pippin that is an empty file, don't worry about it. I guarantee you it doesn't matter.

Oh also if you can please explain, the community mod manager (from prop joe) is mentioning a conflict with the file "whmm_update.txt" in your mod and some other mods from prop joe.
Is that okay or some troubleshooting is needed?

So if i understand it right, this mod basically uses CA's own mechanic for mounts & immortality skills to just also give Mentor skill when the proper level is achieved?

Also your trait limit mod is the amazing so thanks for that one too

What a great idea, i never spent points on mentor despite it being a good skill just because i wanted my heroes/lords to have maximum combat or army capabilities but it always irked me that i was wasting all that exp. Thanks man!

@Stale Memes; maybe use reset mod first, then install this afterwards just to cover all bases. It might work.

@Mordy What I'm describing is a problem that first occurred when mount unlocks were made automatic, much like Mentor in your mod. As in, when you'd use a re-spec on a character with a mount that had been unlocked automatically, these points would disappear and you'd have to spend actual skill points on the mount again to get it back. This has since been fixed, but I figured I'd bring it up and inquire about it in case you were unaware of it. Does this explain my concern better? I know next to nothing about mods, so please forgive my ignorance.

@Stale Memes I'm not sure If I understood your question. If you install this mod on an existing save game the points you already spent are gone but if you have a respec mod you can get them back. Basically what it says in the FAQ.

Exactly what I was looking for. Is this mod compatible with re-spec mods so that the "skill points" that were automatically allocated to this skill don't just vanish?

@Nolrach It works exactly the same as mounts and immortality.

So how does it work? does it automatically spend one of your skill points and puts it in the skill when you reach the required levels or is the skill awarded for free upon reaching the correct levels (like mounts and immortality?)

Why is this not base game?

@Rauri I couldn't tell you. When I searched for this kind of mod, didn't find anything that did this so I made the mod and uploaded.

I could swear I already had a mod that did this, but when I checked it's not there. Maybe the mod was deleted from the workshop? I've noticed quite a few reuploads lately.
