did anyone else feel like they were playing the same level over and over again after one mission? I think it was the long walk home but it would be a new level then followed by the same map of the long walk home. i felt like I was going crazy. I couldnt tell if that was the joke or if that was a bug

During Squiddy Hut Jr (I can't remember the actual level name), the banshees just aren't spawning. I don't have any skulls on so that's not it. could be a client-side bug

Do you have any skulls on? There's a bug in vanilla if you have the boom skull on (I think that's the one at least), when Dare leaves the garbage truck, Virgil dies every time.

Worst case can you try to see if loading the final rally point works instead?

Im still doing the mission on v2.3 and every time virgil gets out of the Dumpster Truck he seems to die i did the level twice restarting not sure if its on my end or not

Alright, v2.3 is out. It fixes the final encounter in Coastal Highway so you can properly finish it. I found a script that was waiting on a squad that never appears, fixed that.

There is kind of a side bug now from that, where the final Phantom flies in the same time as the friendly Phantom, so the final rush to the allied Phantom is a lot more chaotic. I'll look into that later, but for now it's beatable! I also fixed the insertion points in that level so you can start at that final fight if you want.

In the final survival area it's the first phantom and then nothing.

@Budd Dywer, when you say "Only the first phantom spawns", do you mean the first phantom of the game, or is it the survival area in the finale?

I'll keep updating these, keep me updated on these issues! Like I said before, ODST is the biggest pain of the three games I've modded and it's not even close. I think my issue was from making the mod before ODST's mod tools were properly fixed and usable, so I have this weird clash of old and new files that I need to keep diagnosing. I had reset a lot of the levels to vanilla and built it back up, but it's still busted in areas, so... I'm going to keep fixing it!

I found a workaround a little bit after posting my comment by jumping back a segment or so with the sniper and killing a few grunts that were nearly out of bounds.

Alright, removed my last two comments to avoid spamming the feed, but 6 hours later, I was able to rework the scripts that were locking up in the NMPD HQ finale. I tested it a few times and it finished as expected, so this should be fixed.

I also fixed a couple small bugs I saw while testing, I try to keep my patch notes accurate to what changed for anyone curious.

- Click the Subscribe button above
- Load up Halo MCC with easy anti cheat (EAC) disabled
- NOTE: If you don't see the option when starting the game for EAC disabled, you probably at some point set it to "Always use the option" for anti cheat enabled. You'll need to right click Halo in your steam library, go to properties, and somewhere in there is launch options. You can set it there, or set it to always ask
- Once EAC is disabled and you're in MCC, navigate to Campaign > Halo 3: ODST. You should see at least two options then; the standard ODST campaign, and my mod

So far we haven't ran into any issues outside of the regular MCC crashing issues that happen out of my control. The levels are progressing, getting through Kizingo Blvd actually finishes the level, things seem to be working great. Thanks for the patience and support ❤️

Alrighty, I'm fairly certain I figured this out. I uploaded the changes to run a co-op play with someone to test it (it gets old testing the same things solo over and over and again). I redid all the scripts for levels to hopefully fix it this time

I think I've fixed it, I'm redoing the levels you listed, but so far it seems promising and you can finish the levels. I have to finish these up, I'll build (about 2-3 hours usually), playtest the problem areas, and then hopefully we'll be good!

ODST is a pain in the butt to mod, I apologize this hasn't been the best experience, but for what it's worth, I've probably sunk more time into ODST than H3 or Reach solely trying to fix issues the other games don't have.

Has a resolution for Boulevard of Broken Dreams been found yet? Was looking at comments and I am experiencing the same thing after defending the area with Dutch.

If you were on Coastal Highway, did you have any skulls on? I assume it's the issue where Dare dies trying to leave the Oliphant and it forces you to restart last checkpoint

There's a bug in vanilla too where that happens if you have certain skulls active. If not, what happened on them?

lol yeah I experienced it recently too, I need to run it in the mod tools and try to debug what's going on. Based on the major fixes needed for this version, I wonder if my scripts are out of date now and something's conflicting. I'll look more into it though

Can confirm we also restarted the Boulevard of Broken Dreams level as we were stuck.
We cannot end the mission. It triggers Dutch telling us to come meet him for the level end but nothing happens.

Same thing happens in Here Come The Po-Po. Have tried restarting several times and not sending any enemies flying off the map. The final Phantom with the chieftain never spawns.

I'm trying to figure out what might be happening. I wonder if a Marine is throwing a rocket grenade and launching an enemy out of the level or something, I'll try to look more in depth and see if I can spawn in some death barriers or something at a specific point

Im also stuck at the end of Boulevard of Broken Dreams. The same exact thing has happened to me. Ive restarted my game, restarted the level, and it still gives out the same outcome

I'm at the mission Boulevard of Broken Dreams and I am stuck after I helped Dutch to defend the checkpoint right before you go up to the bridge of the MND building. After I cleared the Area, the game seems bugged due to the fact that nothing happens and nobody wants to move (and open the door for me) whatsoever. Any ideas ?

I would love to, but right now I'm not sure I can do that time sink.

For reference, the average time it's taken me for each of my major 4 mods (Cursed H3, ODST, Reach, and Reach Gruntpocalypse) is about 1/3 of a year working 40 hour weeks. I've learned a lot, and it gets easier each time, but each engine has its quirks and I'm sure I'd run into some weird issue, plus I like making unique ideas for each game (excluding H3 and ODST, being basically the same game in different areas of the "universe").

I'll see eventually, Halo 2 is an incredible game and I'd love to do something with it, but for now, my focus has been polishing up Halo 3 and ODST to be up to the standards I set myself when making Reach content.

UPDATE: I was up way too late, but it looks like the major issues have been fixed! Cutscenes still are not modified, but I'll come back to that at a later point to update those. I have ported over about 18 weapons from Cursed Halo 3 and Reach, also possible to spawn in Firefight. The tutorial on Streets is finally fixed now that I was able to hunt down the issue, a new vehicle, new Marble effects, and more fixes.

Since I have to redo the fonts stuff for ODST anyway, I'm in the middle of porting the Cursed Halo 3 v4.0 weapon set to ODST and bringing in those too. Hopefully I can knock this out pretty quickly, and then the mod should be past the weird issues and I can start building on it again. Just an awkward in-between point right now where I can't do a quick build since I'm currently adding stuff. Soon, though.
