It's okay, I think after a little over a year I've come to understand the importance of a mod such as this for those different than myself. Both you and this wonderful mod have been forgiven and I thank you for taking the time to remind me that not all is evil in this world.

@Urist_McScary Upon reflection I see now that my mod could be misconstrued as defamatory to the good name of brave Urists everywhere. And for that I truly apologize.

This mod is for those who would like the revered name to be a bit less ubiquitous, and thus shine all the brighter upon the heroes that bare it.

by the way I really like the idea of this mod, I'm really courious if this change have other mechanical repercussions and if new names can be added based on circumstances (like a society run by necromancers starting naming their people based on the domain/sphere of death)

how does it work in vanilla?
from what I understand from your description the game chose the name a dwarf can have from an existing word within a set domain instead of chosing from an handcrafted list.
the domains seem to be the same as spheres so a name can be connected with the art and gods of a certain community?

Excellent mod, have you thought about doing the same for religion?

I haven't crunched the stats to produce actual numbers but, anecdotally, this mod seems to approximately double the diversity of names. Perhaps slightly less than double.

A fortress of 150 dwarves will still have some have some duplicate names, but not nearly as many. And the likelihood of having four or five dwarves all share the same name is dramatically reduced.
