idea for getting pikmin from onion.
rather than just summon from combat, why not have it summon when fed? or just turn the onion into a building rather than a creature.

I had elves bring me an onion, but I don't know if onions can be used to make pikmin or how you'd go about doing it. The pastebin doesn't really give info on that.

This is great! Although I have a few questions before I go and download this. Can dwarfs (or other modded races) train and use the pikmin like Olimar and the gang? Can dwarfs kill these pikmin monsters and subsequently pikmin and brew ale or make meat out of them (yes I know terrible but that's why I'm asking) An the last question is, will this clash/break any other mods?

Bug: Breadbugs can be merchants pack animals, but when they leave the map all the items they hauled are considered stolen by the game. I'm not sure how this affected my forts relationship with their own civ or others, but it's noted in Legends mode that something funny happened to the caravan.

clicking on "health -> description" for snow bulborb causes immediate CTD for me, but I can't replicate it in arena, only fort mode.

My first Fort is about to die due to FPS death (more like inconvenience) so this is perfect timing for me! Like everyone else here I am in love with the sprites and the scope of execution

@☾⎛sιтєʀ⎞☽ the pikmin and other creatures are much bigger than they are in the games because.... if they were all vermin sized it would be a bit pointless and much less interesting. I adjusted sizes to suit the setting and the functions I wanted them to serve. A playable Pikmin mod isn't really something I have interest making, but anyone is welcome to use the sprites I've made to create one (just give credit lol)

@☾⎛sιтєʀ⎞☽ Everything's been added as a creature - even the onions and candypop buds. The pikmin are generated by Onions in combat. I had wanted them to be passively summoned from corpses, but couldn't get it to work in the way I wanted. Leaf, bud, and flower Pikmin are separate castes with slightly different abilities. They do not grow from one into another, unfortunately, as DF doesn't have the framework for that. Same is true for Bulbmin. Candypop buds are immobile creatures that emit spores that will transform Pikmin into White/Purple pikmin. All Pikmin can be found in the wild, but they cannot breed.

Or you know what might be funny? Respriting dwarves to be the pikmin... A dwarven pikmin crossbreed. It would just be regular dwarf sprites but children have leaves and adults have flowers. The dwarve's skin would be different colors but I guess it might be difficult making the game determine what color a dwarf's skin would be upon spawning.

I usually don't care for crossover mods and things that may seem unbalanced but I have a weakness for Pikmin and this seems really fitting... Although dwarves are way bigger than all of the Pikmin monsters lol. Maybe everyone suddenly shrunk? Anyway, how do pikmin work in this mod if you added their ships and different colors of pikmin? Being able to embark as only pikmin would be a neat idea too.
