1) There is no Tuna fish, right?
2) I blame the game developers to not allow realistic turnouts on train tracks. You need to have mods and learn how to create your own turnouts. You may destroy the beautiful track design of this map, so be mindful.
One question: only two of the rail connections enter the start square, the others bypass it and go to one of the other two connections - is that intentional?
"And I definitely don't want to mess with the brilliant asthetics (5 * by BonBonB by the way) on this map."
I'll be the judge of that one ;-)
PS Show already recorded and will be out tomorrow (What Map 1596)
That's a known issue and standing "problem" in this kind of high end vanilla maps. Which also effects upgrading and sometimes connecting highways.
If you want to see this in full effect, watch Biffa's strict vanilla series on Sidai's snow map on Youtube. It's hilarious.
I say "problem" in quotes because that only effects you, if you don't have one or two really essential mods like Move it or Network Anarchy. Having access to this map means having access to this mods and they are fine with the poorest of potato PCs and they are highly, highly recommended. I personally think, that's just a question of taste and these maps are still vanilla. Because they are still perfectly playable without these mods - you just may have to tear down a highway (ramp) or a rail line and build it new lesser nice, when upgrading it or because it's desastered.
As far as I knew, there's nothing a map maker can do about this - besides painting the map lesser nice in the first place.
@Stalker: Thank you, but there are already enough windy hills in the start square. But I don't want my loud turbines there in the nice residential area. And I was especially thrilled that Sidai gave me (just for me, hehe) an extra windy flat spot where industry sensibly belongs anyway. And it works. It's blue on the wind map everytime. It just doesn't work for me. Can't be the maps fault I think.
And I definitely don't want to mess with the brilliant asthetics (5 * by BonBonB by the way) on this map.
Screw it, I cheated my way shamelessly untill unlocking geothermal, which is also realistic on this islands anyway. :)
It's just a curiosity I think at this point.
And I think you should make road anarchy a requirement, because the starting highway access can not be connected without. Or I was too stupid, one or the other.
I think it's a bit of a shame that I probably won't see this map again in my favourite map test because of your disclaimer, but that's life and I understand you (apart from the fact that it's none of my business either). But I think that map test has never fulfilled "non-commercial purposes only" anyway. 2/2
And I'm the first guilder, great. :)
I loaded it and played to the first 600ish Inhabitants. I only have the Theme, the LUT, Hide it, IMT and Node Controller. None of the other recommended visual maps and not Environment Changer Mod. Works perfect and looks near enough to the screenshots for me (what a sunrise!).
Unfortunately, I ran into a strange problem, because the strong wind corner that you built especially in the start square was at some point not enough to supply my little village, even with three wind turbines. Because the wind is permanently at force ... I think it dropped to 4, in any case they together emitted < 13 MW. ...
