I decided to finally do it and officially retire this mod.
But Forgotten History is not abandoned, merely this iteration.
Most of Forgotten History is already part of my other mods, and while it does pain me to no longer have them in Forgotten History itself, it was necessary for my ability to mod Stellaris. Having the origins, civics and other stuff in mods with similar stuff makes updates much easier and faster, and, well, I could use that time.
Forgotten History was my first mod, and it's a bit sad to cut it up like this, which is why I decided to leave this up as a legacy version. This way it can live on in both its (sort of) original state while also allowing me to continue updating it without it being a massive headache for me.
Anyway, for everyone who managed to go through all that, as well as for those who skipped down here without reading it:
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3614180098
NAME_plexi: "Plexi"
precursor_plexi_1: "$NAME_plexi$"
precursor_plexi_1_desc: "The Plexian Swarm tried to eradicate all life in the galaxy, can we will uncover the secrets of the these devourers?" #or whatever you would write for the on hover description on the precursor select menu at game start
and maybe find the art and update the entry for common\precursor_civilizations\AAA_precursor_civilizations.txt to something like
precursor_plexi_1 = {
size = 100
picture = "GFX_precursor_plexi"
}
and then add your new art to gfx\interface\game_setup\precursors folder and name it precursor_plexi.dds
I have some past versions on the workshop, all in this collection: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=3025992724
Unfortunately the earliest version is 3.6.1 as that is when I made the mod.
If you need it for a specific version between then and now, I can also get you that, though I'd have to send the mod files via mail or discord, or make a new workshop upload.
Thanks in advance for any answers. and please keep 'em at a very basic level, I'm 72 and no computing expert!
Can you come over to our channel in the stellaris modding den? (#metals-more-mods) or just contact me in a direct/private message on discord? (metallichydra)
A mix.
Currently I don't have much motivation for making Stellaris mods. Part of the reason has been lack of time, though the horrible state of the game has also caused my motivation to burn out quickly.
Though it also has to do with the way I operate, if so to say. As should be abundantly clear, I take on many projects at a time, way too many than I can reasonably handle myself, yet at the same time I want to do most of these alone.
I have way too many mods at this point, too many for me to reasonably maintain, and those are just the tip of the iceberg. For each released mod, I have two unfinished mods, and five other non-Stellaris projects I am actively trying to find time to work on.
So, as you probably already guessed, my lack of time, energy and motivation makes it a "When the stars align" type of thing.
Not yet.
Someone else had that exact same issue with another mod of mine.
I have had that issue, but with a specific beta branch.
It most likely is a vanilla bug of sorts.
Keeping the mod doesn't harm my games even in 4.0, but I found it very weird that now my only way to play stellaris is by keeping this 3.14 mod active. I'm not sure why it's like this but figured someone else might either know more about what's going on than I do.
It should grant you increasing passive bonuses from the relic.
No
With the pop rework, it'll hit almost every medium and big mod hard.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy it!
And yeah, ethics has little effect on whether pops are loyal or not. Happiness is primarily what determines that.
This mod's precursors would not spawn if the mod has not taken them into account, so most mods that just force spawn all precursors would most likely not spawn this mod's precursors.
Precursor Selection does support this mod's precursors, so using that and just enabling all precursors will work.
