Dear Novu - with Version 1.1.0.9 your mod works better then before. There is no need to activate the Horse Feeding Yard with a small amount of fuel anymore. Maybe you can change your description.

@Novu I like this game and I like your modding work. Start this game earlier the the Early Start DLC. I like to start in 1830 and the horse vehicles and buildings around are my favourites. Thank you for your work. Maybe I have some ideas but I am not able to mod any game.

@Eragon I tried the solution with the converter, but it is a converter (Crops to fuel = like Bio-Fuel) it isn't a solution to the horse feeding yards. The converter must be build up in realistic and needs a worker and asphalt-connection.

In the Early Start DLC you may use coal for fuel (railways) without a converter, maybe there is a internal mechanism, that you may modify the mechanism so that you can use crops instead of coal. I am not a modder, maybe it is easy to modify or not.

After Early Start DLC the horse feeding yards doesn't work anymore in the published function. All horse vehicles use the fuel insteed the crops to refuel now.
Is there any change planned?

Turn off research under options. Build the converters and then turn research back on. They should still work.

All converters are locked behind some sort of research, same thing applies for horse breeder and veterinarian. Impossible to use.

I added an update to the Steam refueling station just a few minutes ago using the same process as the horse feeder.

Yep the converter is locked behind research so the only way how to get it is desible research --> build it --> enable research. It desibles achievemnts but thas something I absolutely do not care about.

I hope it will be posible to do the same thing with steam powered vehicles to turn coal into fuel becouse the new DLC broke even those

It appears the horse feeding converter is locked behind Refinery research and cannot be used until research is completed

You have to build the horse feed converter now too and connect it to the feeding yard.

Hey Novu. Can you please confirm if this mod works with new Early Start DLC? I built the station, delivered a little bit of fuel and crops but horses still use fuel instead of crops when coming to refuel.

Maybe possible but I don't know how to do it.

Now that scripts are in the game, is there any way to use them to fix behavior to only "eat" crops, and/or for vehicles to not use the horse feeding yards? It may be possible to design whole groups of behaviors/dependencies with clever scripting.

@Novu I agree with @Murmel, I only asked as it was inconvenient, if one used Distribution Centers later it wouldn't even matter and sometimes you don't notice stuff on your own and modders have seldomly beta testers :-).

I just added a larger feeding yard to accommodate the 4 horse teams. Should have done that sooner. Sorry.

Steam covered Hull and Four-Horse covered Hull are often leading to a Traffic jam if you let them wait until unload, would be nice if you could fix that. (For Example, make the yard a bit longer or making one of the side, not center, ones the primary spot which vehicles choose)

I hope the devs will get horses officially into the game; for me, the early days of the Soviet Union are the most interesting.

It is technically a bug exploit that allows horses to eat crops. There is no such thing as horses in this game. They are horse shaped trucks that are tricked into refueling on crops. So you have to put both fuel and crops in the feeding station. But the horses will only eat the crops as long as there is both in the storage.

Hmm... Why fuel ? There are plenty of crops, they will only eat if there is also fuel?

You have to deliver both fuel and crops to the feeding yard. If there is more crops than fuel then the horses will eat the crops.

I put these in my game, but the horses won't eat from them, they turn red and have a 'problem.' The horse eat diesel just fine, but, as you point out, crops are a lot cheaper (and easier to make in 1900). How can I fix this? My trucks will put crops in the feeding station just fine, btw. The horsedrawn vehicles just won't go there to fill up.

Feeding horses crops is a lot cheaper.

I don't know if it's a bug but horses eat (refuel) at the gas station as well :D So no need for the feeding yard.
