I know this should logically be the case but the way these needs work ingame thirst and bladder are completely unaffected by each other

I also priorised maintaining the metabolic balance because making Impids eat 50% more food just to make them consume less water wasn't worth it

I do take suggestions if you find more fitting downsides to maintain the metabolic balance

Desert dwelling creatures should be urinating and defecating less since their body is adapted to waste less water. For example camels reabsorb the water in their bladder allowing them to go long periods without urinating. Their eventual urine comes out as a thick paste and their dung dry enough to use as fuel.
