@『Shiro』this only affects vanilla planets, modded planets are not affected. The arcana azure sea is not affected by this mod so its probably jus the normal azure sea generation.
『Shiro』 19. apr. kl. 23:44
Cool mod but this might have messed with modded ocean planet world gen which cause the underground layer to turn back to vanilla. ( Azure Sea Arcana )
FrankyStein 15. apr. kl. 9:35
Since I am a sucker for everything related with underwater exploration, this mod is SPECTACULAR in what it does.

Now, if only we had more dungeons to explore in the depths of these oceans...

PS. Read @Crankenstein's comment in order to load properly this mod in your game file.
Many thanks dude! ♥

I've played around with the water a bit, but I can't get it to run any faster. But at least I had fun with it.

@Dylldophlo that only happens with the "surface" caves due to a skill issue on starbound's part, not much I can do about it I think. The actual caves (where you can see the pretty background) dont have that issue.
Dylldophlo 28. dec. 2024 kl. 0:29
It bothers me a little that the caves have to fill up with water first.
Dylldophlo 27. dec. 2024 kl. 3:23
thanks for the advice. i'll try it out when i get the chance. :2Dqbert:
Omega68nova  [ophavsmand] 27. dec. 2024 kl. 1:19
@Dylldophlo the way starbound world gen works, is that it creates new space "chunks" (think minecraft chunks) as it goes, and those chunks have already predefined generation to the planet level. So you would need to fly a bit far until stars take a few secs to load in the space map (signaling there is new chunks). For them to generate probably. You can also delete the universe.chunks file to refresh world gen but keep old planets you have visited as they are. This might cause bugs from what I heard, but did that multiple times and never had trouble so it should be fine.
Dylldophlo 27. dec. 2024 kl. 0:57
Do it work with old save games or do i have to create a new world?
Omega68nova  [ophavsmand] 18. okt. 2023 kl. 1:32
@Random Dev sure, go ahead, sorry for the late response, but anyone is welcome to make patches for other mods.
@16BitPotato uhh sorry about the late response but it doesnt seem to be a conflict, and from my side I dont think I can fix it, closest I got was a setting called "caveLiquidSeedDensityRange", but I set it to 5 times the maximun I found in any vanilla biome and it didnt do anything sadly, I think its just a engine limitation. I dont think the devs thought about water filled caves, just about lakes in water. If I am wrong feel free to correct me tho.

Can make Mod Ocean planet version?(Example like Arcana Ocean planet)
Kenchi 4. juli 2023 kl. 1:51
Ngl, I forgot I'd installed this some time back, and when I'd gone underground in a ocean sphere for a quest... my jaw DROPPED! Immediately, I had ideas of doing a playthrough in that biome! A pleasant surprise to say the least!
16BitPotato 19. juni 2023 kl. 22:53
So far in my tooling around with this, I've found that the caves do appear to generate properly (and loook really good!), but they aren't generating flooded, and you would be correct to guess that the weight of the ocean pouring into a cave mouth causes both performance issues and navigational awkwardness.
Presuming this is caused by a mod conflict, do you have any ideas as to what might cause this behavior?
Omega68nova  [ophavsmand] 22. maj 2023 kl. 22:29
@Sir Luis Oh boi do I have the mod for you... I literaly made a skylands mod like years ago.
Sir Luis 22. maj 2023 kl. 21:38
i got an idea for this mod. add sky islands and micro dungeons to to the sky layer.
newt546 3. maj 2023 kl. 14:51
whenever i uninstall this mod it makes all ocean planets unusable
Crankenstein 28. apr. 2023 kl. 15:14
For those who are wondering why your underwater caves aren't being reworked, go to your universe folder (be sure to backup your storage folder just to be safe) and delete universe.chunks file. Open your game, it should work for every unexplored oceanic planet now, you won't need to travel far to find your reworked caves. (for some reason the change was even implemented on my previously explored planets, not sure how that works). Enjoy.
newt546 15. apr. 2023 kl. 18:33
can i get an uninstall patch
lazywombat 27. mar. 2023 kl. 1:19
that new background is gorgeous, i will definitely consider building something here
404_coffee.exe 15. mar. 2023 kl. 3:57
oh this is a really nice rework I love it!
ShunTheWitch 13. mar. 2023 kl. 16:41
scuba 2? making me want to bring a sub down here
Silva 6. mar. 2023 kl. 21:52
Alright that's fair enough. And yeah, it is a frackin ore but that's okay. I just hoped it might be possible. And I did get a lot of gold which I usually run out of really quickly. So, thanks for the mod and thanks for responding. Too bad the idea is a bust. It would have been so cool to see though. Have a good one dude. Can't wait to see how this one progresses!
Omega68nova  [ophavsmand] 6. mar. 2023 kl. 15:36
@Silva neptunium is a FU ore right? This mod has a custom ore gen that doesnt really support modded ores and has more vanilla ores than usual (ocean caves have more titanium, tungsten and iron, for example). I mainly made it that way to have a way to farm ores commonly found across vanilla and all modded content. Also if you having trouble with neptunium, I recommend you check the FU wiki, seemingly its found on penumbra, bog, proto and aether planets the most.

About the whole volcano thing idea, frankly I think it would be hard to put it into practice, maybe with a dungeon? Would work weird and sometimes not even reach the surface of the lava ocean depending on the planet size, and the whole point of the mod is to have the caves traversable in a submarine, so I dont think it'd fit in. Thanks for the idea thought.
Silva 6. mar. 2023 kl. 8:10
I missed a lot of neptunium. I usually get it on ocean planets a little. Know how much I found after this mod? 2, 2 whole ores.... Usually I find at least 16-20 which is more than enough. And I needed just the 2 at that point but damn. At least get some more in there if only a little haha.
Still, I wouldn't change this mod out because it's just too damn gorgeous. As for magma underground oceans, why not add volcano spires as entrances? have the rest covered in something like magmarock or obsidian. Well maybe not obsidian unless it's a really thin layer. And the magma underneath needs to encompass the entire layer. Is that hard to code in? I know I ask a lot in this comment but I'm just a big fan. Oceans always seemed kinda boring and hard to build in. With this, it's so much more than that. Well have a nice day dear readers. Thanks for this mod Omega
StupidBrainSmoothie 14. feb. 2023 kl. 1:53
This will help me alot, thank you for the rundown
Omega68nova  [ophavsmand] 13. feb. 2023 kl. 7:14
@StupidBrainSmoothie what you would need to do is copy the oceanfloor biome of each biome, add some underground features like challenge doors, and make it into a moon caves terrain, then set the new biome to the underground layers of the planet. Oh, that and make a parallax for it, a recolor of the current one, or just using the current one could work. I don't plan on adding it patches for mods for now,so feel free to reverse engineer the mod and make your own patches or edits if you want.
StupidBrainSmoothie 13. feb. 2023 kl. 6:23
How difficult would it be to make the same changes to modded oceans such as aether seas from FU and the multiple sea types from arcana ?

I'd look into doing it myself but I'm curious if you have your own plans
glider521al (Aura of Worlds dev) 29. jan. 2023 kl. 1:53
Got it, thanks :)
Omega68nova  [ophavsmand] 29. jan. 2023 kl. 1:44
@glider521al the server needs to have it installed to generate new oceans with underground, and the client will need it intalled due to background of the biome, among other things.
glider521al (Aura of Worlds dev) 28. jan. 2023 kl. 22:08
Wonderful work!

Is this compatible with Vanilla Multiplayer by any chance (or will it require everyone to have the mod installed), I want to ask a friend about adding it to a server?
MegaMato 18. jan. 2023 kl. 10:10
I have to agree that the ore distribution is a little high. Sometimes the game just goes HAM and generates huge globs of resources lol.
Solar 17. jan. 2023 kl. 5:39
@Omega58nova oh that is great to hear. I love these looking caves it be nice to build bases around it after all.
Omega68nova  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. 2023 kl. 13:12
@Ciel this mod replaces the underground areas of vanilla ocean, artic, and toxic planets, so other planets, including modded ones, wont be affected by this mod.
Solar 16. jan. 2023 kl. 10:43
is this Compatible with other mods that add planet?
StandPeter 13. jan. 2023 kl. 5:33
Really really nice mod; the air-filled caves underneath the seafloor was always a pet peeve of mine.

I have major balance concerns about the embiggened ore veins, though. They are often of comical sizes - my first Arctic experience with this mod yielded ~200 of each T4 ore in only about 15 mins. Similar story with Titanium and Ocean planets, though slightly less dramatic.

Oceans are far less threatening than caves, they're lit up, and the bigger spaces make it much easier to find ore. In my opinion, that should be enough of a benefit. Any chance you can make a version with default ore sizes?
Ilthe 10. jan. 2023 kl. 1:29
Thanks for explanation!
Omega68nova  [ophavsmand] 9. jan. 2023 kl. 12:16
@Ilthe They will spawn in the areas they normaly spawn in, but they wont get added to the underground segments added by my mod unless a patch is made for it. To be clear, this changes the caves under the usual ocean floors and adds cave entrances to the ocean floor, but doesnt change the ocean floor otherwise.
Ilthe 9. jan. 2023 kl. 8:09
Is it possible to have both your oceans and bandits from Rogues Out Camping (it adds some underwater dungeons)?

WatcherCCG 9. jan. 2023 kl. 1:21
I do not envy the task ahead of you should you ever choose to add FU compatibility. But I assure you, everyone would probably love you for it.
Omega68nova  [ophavsmand] 2. jan. 2023 kl. 0:22
@ryuketsu1192 definitelly no problems with extra dungeons, I am using that mod along with mine and it works fine, and I dont know what galaxy in conflict would do to make oceans "crash", maybe overwrite ores or something? imma need a log if you want a fix.
@Silver Sokolova thank you! I use both betabound and improved swim physics, so I actually thought about making a patch for betabound myself, but hadn't gotten around to doing it.
Silver Sokolova 1. jan. 2023 kl. 21:14
I like this mod a lot!! it's super fun to use with Improved Swim Physics. I'm going to have Betabound patch this mod so its ores spawn in your caves
killermagus 30. dec. 2022 kl. 20:29
Just a few recommendations for inspirations for ideas for a magma underwater zone. Look up Terraria's underworld biome (specifically lava fishing.) also the advanced fishing mod for Minecraft. Also typing "lava fish" or "under lava" in Diviant Art made for some interesting images.
MarshCreature 30. dec. 2022 kl. 18:08
Apart from some hiccups here and there with terrain generation this makes ocean planets far more fun to explore. Great job.
H I M 30. dec. 2022 kl. 12:50
Finally got to experience these caves and I LOVE THEM. It was nice to explore some caves for the sake of pure exploration. Plus I have a mod that makes swimming less tedious and less hard on your fingers when holding down your jump button. So, that and this are a match made in heaven.

Hansby 29. dec. 2022 kl. 5:00
Magma underground oceans are definitely a must, because there is nothing to see down there. It's just a barren ocean floor devoid of life or any ecosystem.
Omega68nova  [ophavsmand] 29. dec. 2022 kl. 1:23
@Talon you need to go to newly generated systems from what I tested, and with that I mean new chunks of the universe, not stars next to yours that you haven't visited.
H I M 28. dec. 2022 kl. 18:47
I don't know if this worked for me or not. Ocean worlds don't seem to have these caves. They're still their default selves... unless this requires a universe reset to take effect. I've been to new worlds in new systems and saw nothing changed.
Omega68nova  [ophavsmand] 28. dec. 2022 kl. 15:27
@Kaeror modifying the upper islands so they are stuck to the area bellow... frankly I dont know how to do that, and even If I did, the whole point of this mod is adding thematic caves to all ocean-like planets, I get what you mean but I doubt I could implement it, and it wouldn't fit with the theme. The main problem I have with magma planets is that their underlava area is literaly devoid of life, no coral, no microdungeons, no anything, so making caves under those would just make the caves of that planet even more boring, just lava filled holes with nothing on them. If you have any ideas I'll listen.
