I am working on an update (will be a separate mod) that adds more types of ammunition: high velocity, low pressure (lower damage, lower recoil for mass-challenged platforms), etc.

Also drastically reducing the inventory capacity of the gun. Right now it can hold an incredible amount of ammunition, making it terrible for making point-defense gun-batteries.

Planning on adding high explosive ammunition too, but I am having trouble with it exploding in the gun barrel...

I don't know how to make one, but that is a very cool idea. Theoretically you can configure it to use the same model and make it large grid, but I am not aware how
