For the people who can't talk to the merchant, it's probably because the NPC is set as part of the Merchant Faction instead of Neutral, so you won't be able to talk to him if your reputation with the Merchants is low.

Seems to have stopped working.

same issue as Sonnysideup, i can't seem to be able to interact with the merchant. Just shows "check this item" pop up on the bottom right, but pressing F doesn't bring up the dialogue menu.

why I can't talk to the merchant?

Kinite Ore seems to be missing in the merchant's inventory.
