I think I made the drone purposefully leave worthless materials on the ground in order to save on inventory space when mining.

An automatic pickup for mined items would be better for this because often-times it will just leave the item on the ground instead of moving to pick it up manually. Having this be tied to a module could make it balanced, but either way this functionality should be somewhere in the mod. It could also be helpful to have a forced line of sight toggle when mining so it can't tunnel into liquids or other potential hazards.

does it explode when you try? I might have forgotten to update this mod to account for the newer Lua sandbox changes in TerraLib (this mod uses TerraLib's Lua sandbox really weirdly)

no clue whats causing this, might be some mod causing it but the drone nolonger will let me put chips and micro drones on it

Oh yea uh, the second time it happened to me the drone didn’t get duplicated but the contents of it came back after i emptied it, i think it happened in a similar way as the first time my drone duplicated

The drone has multiple reasons to despawn for teleporting:
1. Deleting itself if the player leaves the world, may fail if world unloads too fast or world unloads around drone
2. This drone was not the newest one the player spawned in the current world
3. The drone was unable to request information from the player (probably never happens)
The code will also refuse to spawn a drone if the drone already exists and it's loaded for you.
Looking at the code, for a drone to be duplicated like this, you'd need to end up with the drone unloaded in one world (such as by moving away from it fast enough) then beam up and, when the drone teleports to you on your ship, retrieve it there, and then beam back down.

Looks like I didn't test thoroughly enough.

Also im not sure what caused it but i found my drone on the planet after i already picked it up one of the times and another time the storage just got copied after i collected everything my drone had when i went back to my ship
So i think beaming up to your ship has something to do with it

I've figured out what the problem is. My drones open doors like players do (by interacting with the door) but that mod expects non-player entities to open doors using a different method.

Next release of this mod will use that method, which SHOULD fix this.

hmm... probably cause as soon as i took the mod out they pathed correctly obviously sense i had to open the door myself again what i assumed happened sense the automatic doors mod open doors once your in the close to a door i'd go through the door would close sense im no longer close to the door the drone would try to open it for some reason then get stuck when the door shuts cause it doesn't count as an npc? i guess causing it to loop at least that's what i assume happened

I see, so it probably changed the script (so it would affect all doors) but didn't implement things correctly.

The server (there is still a server even if you are in singleplayer) runs an individual world on a single thread, so things are entirely synchronous, so the drone trying to open automatic doors wouldn't cause it to open+close doors. Furthermore, the game also does not consider automatic or wired doors to have the door capability, so a drone shouldn't even try to open them. Most likely, that door mod changes the script and breaks everything.

pretty sure tho it might be from a modded structure(the weird mushroom villages and glitch towers) as it was a normal wooden door that i can tell at least i'd go up past it the drone would get stuck opening and closing it

the 'closed door' check should work fine as long as the door works like a vanilla one as well

is this a vanilla door? the drone code specifically checks if a door is closed (the drone is serverside as well, so ping doesn't matter here) before interacting with it, so it shouldn't be closing doors

the only active game play problem they have is not being able to path through doors well instead of just going through they open and close the door on loop

Love mod but it is crashing game and wont let it launch. loaded all my mod one at a time and this wont launch game at all.

Other than messing with your save or writing a script to list everything in the player property I used, there isn't much you can do. Definitely something I should fix.

Support Drones can try to mine protected blocks, but won't ever break them. They can break brain blocks and dead core blocks, but those aren't indestructible, they just take an eternity to mine.

You can have more than one at once, but it might cause lag due to how complex their behaviour is. I also didn't design them around multiple drones at once, so they won't collaborate very efficiently and will probably commit singularity at some point. But it will work.
