My apologies if this sounds like a big request to make, but would it be possible to make a beta-esque Half-Life 2 pistol replacement with c_hands compatibility? (The pistol just so happens to be one of my favorite weapons in Garry's Mod, alongside the Crossbow.)

oh yeah i forgot about the randomizer servers lol, i still thought tf2 had v_models because they don't differ with cosmetics and there's v_models in the files

Actually they indeed use C_hands in TF2, the shotgun is classified as 4 different weapons in code because they use 4 different FP rigs for all the classes for example, and this can also be seen in Randomizer servers where classes use weapons they never should have and still retain their arms with screwed up anims.

tf2 uses v_models

V_ are what Half Life 2 used where the hands are apart of the weapon model, while C_ is basically the arms are separate from the weapon itself, used in Gmod, TF2, and CSGO.

C_hands have inconsistent lighting unless the model origin of the hands are correct while V_hands dont need to worry about that but limits modding hands to reskins heavily unless the model was recompiled to use different hand models which not everyone may want for consistency reasons.

To be fair, the AR2 makes no sense because its a repurposed flare launcher turned into a AR, which is why the reload is bottomless mag for the player with NPC animations not matching up, as they were originally made for the original AR2, the OICW, which used magazines.

Its lazy on valves part but ehh it was 2004 and people were less critical of such details back then.

the ar2 in general looks fucking retarded its got a drum mag but only fires like 30 rounds, and to make matters worse its almost completely made from metal. like imagine holding that thing GOT DAMN. this mod gives it a much better and more sophisticated look than the old ar2
