This used to be a very interesting mod, but it seems to have stopped working in version 1.5 and even now in 1.6.

There are no conflict reports or bugs, it just doesn't seem to be working. A colonist who is a warrior has killed hundreds of enemies with the same longsword, yet the weapon hasn't been named and he hasn't gained any weapon proficiency. In version 1.4, I already had several named weapons and proficiencies less than a year into the game.

Maybe it's a conflict with another mod? But without a conflict report, it's impossible to check.

Thanks to mlie for the continuous mod maintenance and for creating so many useful function mods.

The issue with the stuck pawns and errors on load should be fixed now, thanks to a bug-report by MrXarous

This problem never occured before up until the 1.5 update. I'm still using the 1.4.3901 version til most the mods update. I'd rather not remove the mod mid playthrough as i'm afraid it'll eliminate the levels i've already gained on my 50 hour colony. i'll just wait

Reloading a save with this mod loaded will make all pawns be stuck in place until they drop whatever they are holding just fyi

TO ANYONE WITH THE STUCK IN PLACE PROBLEM YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SAVE THEN GO TO MENU THEN REMOVE THIS MOD THEN RELOAD THE SAVE IT SHOULD FIX THE BUG AT THAT POINT KEEP THE MOD OUT TILL IT IS FIX.

@Sarandis my best guess is that the game bugs when loading in and thinks the weapon is on the ground while the pawn is holding said weapons as items cannot move it stops the pawn from moving but i have no coding experience or knowledge so its a guess

hey y'all found out what is making pawns stuck in place,but not sure why as i have no coding knowledge. when you get XP with the mod on then save then go to the main menu then reload it seems to break the mod.

Aye. I am using the class system, and my pawns freeze upon loading my save. dropping weapons does not unfreeze them. probably something to do with the weapon mastery stats

@Mlie I have a progress report and I'm afraid it's not good news.

Been testing and forcing pawns to acquire weapon masteries and so far, in my current 4 hour play session it only happened once, my pawns have managed to acquire masteries normally, however the mod did not announce it when my pawns named their buffed weapons, something might have gone bad with the alert/warning system

I know you are a very busy necromancer so this is what I got to report for now,
I'll keep on trying to replicate the error, still using that same modlist, might change it soon though.

I'll post any logs related to it.


MORE IMPORTANTLY:
IF you guys and gals are having issues with this mod, force your pawns to drop their weapons and the freezing/stuttering will go away, or load a previous save before it happened.

@Mlie devmode quick test, have a tribe or crashland scenario, preferably on a temperate forest, make a bunch of bows and give them out to pawns, tribals usually have a higher number of starting pawns, let them hunt on their own of fight manually, save the game and the load it, the freezing and log spill should follow suit, is how I have managed to find this, I will provide a log soon enough though, if nothing happens in your end this is my currect modlist https://rentry.co/qt5dtky4

@Mlie from what I read on the logs the issue arises when pawns try to assign names/buffs to their weapons, unfortunately I couldn't get you the log report this time my game seems to have several other issues but I can confirm the bug with 1.5 ticking and freezing the game reports yielded by rocketmen are true, disabling the mod removes it.

if anyone is having an error in 1.5 where all their pawns freeze, can't move while drafted, kick up red errors in the log constantly, and you can't view the descriptions on any weapons, it's this mod. Disabling it removes these problems completely.

With 1.5 this mod bricks my weapons every time I reload a save. All of my pawns' weapons get blank descriptions, and the pawns won't move until the weapon is dropped, at which point it disappears entirely.

Thank you Mlie for keeping this mod alive! It's perfect for my medieval playthrough. For anyone overwhelmed by the sheer number of possible stat modifiers: edit them outside of the game, in mod's config file.

- Suggestion - It would be cool if pawns also have a weapon preference when they are generated. That way you can equip that pawn with their weapon of choice.

Hello Mile, I was just wanting to suggest a reset to default in options if you ever feel like it. Maybe there is and I'm just dumb lol. Also it would be really cool is there was a list of the currently enabled possible level up bonuses to make it easier to play with the settings. Very cool mod! Good work!

does anyone perhaps know of a mod similar to this but instead of mastering a weapon you can instead become more adept at killing a certain type of creature(insect, human, animals) the more you do kill them? I had a colonist of mine kill about 150 insects in a row(dont as why) and i feel like that kind of experience would make him way better at dealing with insects in the future with his prior knowledge at such.

Hey Mlie, is there any chance you could tweak this mod to make it prepend the name of the weapon to the top of the description? With lots of weapons (like CE etc) it can be quite difficult to tell what you're actually looking at when the name of the gun is changed to "Severance" or something lol.

For some reason, Vanilla Weapons Expanded Makeshift weapons don't show up in my weapon mastery list. Also some weapons like the VWE Stun Baton and Shiv don't show up either

I think its not really compatible with "Infinite Reinforce", cause I cant reinforce my "mastered" weapons, might be a mistake on my part tho, cause I havent tested it out a lot atm

Heads up Mlie, in 1.4 for [Fuu] Uncompromising Tribal Faction, the firebow has been removed/reworked so this throws an error for its patch having the wrong xpath.
