i wish the result was a different one, but sadly, this mod is bugging :(
now, masterclass question:
could it be that i can't fix the issue because it rooted itself into my savegame? one of the "while..." mods was upped by a shady steam profile and i kinda begin to develop the fear that that was someone with the intention to cause malwareish harm
RimWorld 1.6 added multi-threaded pathfinding which broke one of the functions that's using non-thread-safe containers.
I use VE: Nutrient Paste Expanded, my prisoners won't eat nutrient paste in the prison commons. Even manually giving them the paste will suddenly forbid it when they try to take it.

And yeah I noticed the cell walls not being real walls, which is why I ditched them even before I had any occupants.
I hoped a luxurious commons would reduce their desire to break out until I can recruit them.
I hope this mod pairs up well with nigels prison break mod.
My issue on the other hand is, ever since I have a prisoner commons, I have a lot more breakouts, even on low occupation.
My previous temporary prison room where sometimes 6 or 7 people lived on ~20 tiles had fewer breakouts in almost 30 years versus 2-4 people in luxurious and extremely spacious commons within 0.5-1.5 years. One breakout happened just hours after arrest while half of them were still in hospital beds.
So, I wonder if the mod has some unfortunate addition of breakout chances versus a single vanilla holding cell. Is there a way to modify it myself?
