This still works in 1.6. Given the very specific nature of this mod I doubt it'll ever actually break

The game only checks for psy-sensitivity when installing the Mech Link. So alternatively you can modify your pawns genes to be psy-sensitive, this will allow you to install the Mech Link. You can then remove/override the gene afterwards again if you don't like them being psy-sensitive. This does of course require having at least one gene from either side of the psy-sensitivity spectrum.
If you don't want to bother with all that, then this mod will work wonderfully instead.

Underrated mod.

i didn't even know that was a thing. Lore wise I can get the argument as to why but personally even lore wise it makes no sense you need psychic ability. more so when you factor in how does bandwith towers buff it if it is psychic and if it is why does traits that buff psy not buff it.

Absolutely necessary mod. Totally works fine in current version 12/8/22.
