Hey! I really enjoy your mod. I think it adds a hint of more realism into the game and survivor ingenuity is put into the light. What I would change is the name of the Recipe. Right now it's just called 'metal spear'. I suggest changing it to 'Make Metal Spear' or 'Make Pipe Spear'.

Would be great if u add stats like is it unbreakable, how big damage etc. If it's still weak I better keep my Machete.

Given the concern someone raised in my workshop regarding possible conflict between this Craftable Metal Spear mod, and my Metal Spears mod, I looked into the matter to appease them. The results are:

This mod and no conflicts with my Metal Spears mod. In fact, should someone wish to have both a singular crafted spear, and my mod running, I would recommend this one. While the mechanics of crafting are simpler here, and the spear linked to survival, and not metalworking - the damage range is compatible with my spears - if one considers this metal spear the evolution of the crafted spear, then my spears would be the evolution of the crafted spear's upgraded forms

This mod does have a conflict with it's rival mod, Metal Spear however, so do not install both of them.

An update, so strange... so I found another Saw in a garage somewhere and I was able to craft one. So bizarre lol.

I love this mod already, unfortunately I was only able to craft it once and even with all the materials, I'm unable to make another.

A bit broken IMO. I like the idea to have the possibility to do one though, but when it comes to use it, you can't be stopped.

Maybe lower the swing speed, and durability ?

Used it exclusive and killed every zed with the spear, even if I pushed it over first, just to test this thing. Went from 327 kills to 701 before it broke this is a must have item I love it.

i played now around 50 hours with metal spear and love it.

Oh i didn't mean any offence bro, I already rate up the mod

mab, a lotta people remake mods that others have made, i don't feel the need of bringing it up, as well, this is his first mod adding a custom item so to be fair, just let him do his own thing, its how he wanna starts and learns how making weapons actually works. its not like he's outright copying it, make something basic someone else is gonna do the same thing at some point, either trying to make a better one, not being aware of its existance, or even just inspired off of making it as their first item.

a metal spear is a basic idea so all i'm tryna say is it's not like hes hurting anyone for making that weapon, and i'm happy he's trying to make a quality of life based mod. even though crafted spears are extremely meta, a metal one is cool and honestly needed, its annoying having no maintenance and spear early game yet wanting to use a spear.

You need a saw for sharpening the spear. all the other questions are answered in the description

What is the saw for? Doesn't this spear use knives, sharp rocks etc like the wooden one? Also, can this be found in the game like the wood spear, or is it crafted only?

This is my imagination of a Metal spear. And there will always be another person with the same idea. But thanks for the heads up, il take note of it

You can search existing mods on the workshop next time if you wanna avoid duplicates.
