what was the range 350?

I just noticed that with this mod the damage on the far is decreased from 1750 to 1375. That does not seem right. I did a bit of testing, and it seems when you alter the range of the beam with the mod, there is a formula that changes the damage 'far', while 'near' stays the same.

it would be relitivly small. enough to make giant death laser look better.

I think it is doable. would require some math, but generally range is not 'fixed' and can be a result of a calculation.

Not sure how it would work optimalization wise though.

the best way to balance range is making the projectile inaccurate or slow, so that at range its easier to doge

It's pretty much few minutes of work, but how to decide on the range? Range 450 is current ion beam in this mod, so perhaps 600 for all weapons, except maybe pds?

Truth be told, it is hard to balance it upwards just by guessing what would be cool.
