Hi WittySpoon, thank you for the feedback! Unfortunately, there is no option to improve Youth Facilities because there are no youth teams. Is not intentional, I feel like is pretty stupid, but that's how FM works. The only way to fix it would be to add a U21/19 division, but that would be unrealistic.

Thanks for the database, really enjoying the challenge! Can I ask if it is possible for teams to improve their Youth Facilities? The option to improve Training Facilities, coaching and recruitment but the Youth Facilities option never appears. Is that a feature or a bug?

Ok, the issue is fixed now, I hope. I simulated 6 seasons and it seemed to be fine. I hope the fix did not messed up with the other spots in case you have more than 3 teams in the European Competitions, very time consuming to get to that situation just by simulating.

Hi Paise. Yes, I reproduced the bug as well. I've tried some tweaks but it didn't worked. I will try to find some other competitions that are already made by SI and are using a similar format. So far I was using the Romanian League as an example, as it has top 3 teams going to European Competitions, and the 4th, 7th and 8th placed teams play a European Place Playoff.

Some additional info: I can reproduce this bug consistently even in the first season with 1 UCL and 2 UECL spots.

(Part 2)

Details: This only happened in year 2036 and 2037 while in every other year I correctly got the UCL spot. This is when I noticed that ONLY in those two years, Tre Penne ended the league stage with 76 points while I had 84 (this will be important later on). And in those two years, Tre Penne won all 3 of their playoff matches.

In 2035, Tre Penne did the same but had 74 points, and I correctly got a UCL spot.

My suspicion is that the game is counting those playoff wins towards European spots allocation, and that those 3 wins gave Tre Penne 9 points to grant them the UCL spot even if it doesn't show up in the league table.

I'm curious if anyone else played that far and had the same issue.

Something is fundamentally broken in terms of European football qualification. In my save, I have built the league enough to rank 20th in UEFA coefficients, giving the league 1 UCL, 1 UEL, and 2 UECL spots (current save year is 2037).

Here's the problem: I won the league but got into Europa while Tre Penne, who was 2nd and won the playoffs, got the UCL spot.

Yes the seeding is not working properly for the second round, even though I set up the seeding from beginning, it seems to only work in the first round.
Yes, the play-off determines the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th, just in case your San Marino challenge is a great success :).
For the money I just gave them standard money based on their league/play-off placement.

I fell like the way I do the title reflects what better what the database is about. Is true that because of the algorithm of the Steam search, my database is pushed a bit back because of the alphabetic order, but is still findable if you type San Marino because it includes the word in the description (I search for it all the time to compare myself with others :)), and to be fair, don't really care that much, I make databases for fun. I started making them for myself because I could't find databases that I liked, and since this Summer I started posting them after the SI devs encouraged me to do so.

Great work. You might want to include "San Marino" in the title just so it shows up in search results. Did the seeding not work for the quarterfinals onward? I thought I had it working in my version but need to double-check. Have you also got it so the playoffs determine the 2nd and 3rd European entrants (depending on Cup)? That was a bit tricky. They also split European money 15 ways which I'm trying to find a workaround for (likely team affiliations/financial help).

Hi royvandeven2008, I am aware of the playoff draws not corresponding with the places from the regular season. I applied the same "technique" in all the stages and in other databases that I am working on, but for some reason it only works in the first round, aka the Qualifying Round. I decided to just leave it as it is not a big issue and I would rather work on other databases than to spend hours trying to fix this.

I played a season the play off place are not correct highest against lowest. And als on fireworks at the end of the season

There are a few SM databases and having tested them all yours appears to work the best. It's a tough league to work out so I appreciate your effort. The squad registration I was informed of by the Sports Interactive Head Italy researcher but I can't find any rules page online.Squad registration isn't a massive thing though. In ters of the U19 league just a simple one with home & away games each team playing twice would be amazing. It just helps develop young players in-game so if you could do that that would be brilliant.

Hi Cheech, thank you for your review! Would you be able to sent me on private where you found the information about squad registration? I couldn't find that information for this year, I used the last year document from the football federation as a reference, and it says that there's no limit on how many players you can register. As for the U19, it is quite easy to add one, if you would like I can create a custom file and send it to you on private.

Hiya mate, I had a play around and a test of the database and mostly it looks good! The only thing I can see missing is the Campionato Sammarinese should have a maximum squad registration of 25 players. Also - have you got any idea how easy it would be to add a U19 competition? Purelyf ro FM purposes as there is no such thing really IRL.

Ok, after making some more research, literally using Google Translate to search for keywords in Italian, I managed to find an article on the national television about the rules change. Thank you Scraborn for pointing it out, the changes have been applied. Couldn't find any info about the change in how many Sammarines players needs to be on the pitch all time though, so it stays with 2 for the time being.

Hi Scraborn, the rules have been created based on the official document from the Sammarinese Football Federation. If you have any other official documentation, I would be happy to have a look and modify the database if appropriate.

Hi royvandeven2008, the top 4 teams from the regular season qualify for the Quarter-final of the playoff, the other 8 teams have to play a round before that. The winner of the playoff becomes champion of the league and is the main team to represent San Marino in the Champions League. Based on the current coefficient, that team would play in the preliminary for Champions League.

Hi royvandeven2008. I am not sure what you mean in the first sentence. As for the foreigner rule: The teams must have at least 2 Sammarinese players at all time on the field, that means, no more than 9 foreigners. There is also another rule that any team can only register 2 player from outside of EU. I did not included the second rule because San Marino is not part of the EU and the game would consider them as foreigners. I added San Marino on "Considered as part of EU", but it was pointless.
