This mod is fantastic and simple.

It targets the beauty stat, making it highly compatible with any vanilla or modded traits/genes that affect beauty negatively.

Thank you sir, now my colony of ugly bastards won't descend into madness because they all find each other incredibly repulsive. Now they can find common ground in their deformity.

1.6 running both alpha mods and vanilla expanded so not sure which but when i add this mod i get the cant next a new colony.

(also not sure if this already included, but there are some other variants of ugly genes in alpha genes and probably some vanilla race mods, so if you ever felt like adding exceptions for those as well would be great!)

I know this mod only works for the ugly trait, but it would be nice to extend this effect to colonist with deformities. My two pawns with lasting scars both judge each other for their deformities.

But you patch seemed to work!

Mess with the ugly genes? I doesn't touch their XML or anything like that, but it does extend the pawn-beauty boundaries.

Basically in vanilla each level of Beauty gives +/- 20 opinion max +40 or -40. I added 2 extra levels on top which gives only +5 each. And two at the bottom which gives only -10.

Mostly for flavour tbh.


I asked the modder about it and I think this is why it stops working but I don't know much about coding

I've added a priority annotation on one of the patches to try and load after other mods, that may make it work without requiring a specific load order?

I think I found it! At least for me after I added Big and Small - Simple Size Genes this mod stops working. Not sure if its that mod only or the framework but that seems to be the issue.

Works fine here, so its probably a mod conflict. HugsLib log is normally the easiest way to find out which mod

- updated to also remove the romance chance penalty between ugly pawns, which I think fits from an RP side. As with the social tweak there's no buff added to romance chances -- just no longer a 30% chance debuff

Honestly I kind of wish we had something to tone down the beauty thing, too. It's weird when someone joins my colony and is suddenly super friend status with everyone just because they're hot.... hotness doesn't make a person your friend? lol
