When making a world that has both depths and underworld the back ground is always the depths even in the underworld part. Also when having the mod on but selecting the underworld the background is depths not underworld. Could you tell me a solution to this thank you.

You can change their biome type to the other using the core globe sold by the zoologist in hardmode. Make sure to remove most shale and other tiles to stop them from counting as the biome

All tiles/walls/liquids will become unloaded tiles/walls/liquids. Although everything else will revert back to normal. I’d advise not to remove the mod if already being used in a world to prevent progression soft locks (no hellforge, hellstone, etc)

If I remove the mod and my world has the depths in, do i risk to loose my world or it just becomes the normal hell?

sorry about that, looks like the game is trying to load the new keyboard shaders on servers (obv servers cant have keyboards, so this causes the crash).

@Lion8cake I am aware of being able to go over and under her, though I'm finding teleporters to be much more effective due to her size. The hands are actually very troublesome for me, especially because their positioning makes getting close enough to hit the soul with my whip near impossible. And I have noticed the soul closing after some time, though I suppose knowing it forcibly closes at every quarter health is good to know.
My issue with the fight is exclusively with how much damage she deals, which I can't do anything about without sacrificing my damage (making the fight longer), and how difficult it is to dodge her projectiles and hands. On my best attempt, I got the soul to about 300 HP, but taking over 100 damage per hit makes it very difficult to get past that.

Here’s some tips for chasme
1. She’s not like the wall of flesh, you can go under and above her just fine and she will circle around. Clearing out a larger arena to fight her with always helps

2. If the hands are no trouble to you, focus on the head/soul. Unlike skeletron, chasme’s stats are not effected whether her hands are alive or not

3. The soul closes up after a few seconds, forcing you to fight the head again for an additional time. Focus as much damage on the soul as it will forcible close at intervals of 1/4th health.

I'm finding Chasme to be significantly overtuned. I'm doing a summoner playthrough and have the best armor I can have at this point (tried with Geode and Quartz) and am consistently taking over 100 damage per hit, even with an endurance potion. It's incredibly frustrating and is making me feel very discouraged.

@IRBcallMeFynn this is due to the recipe group system. While it may not craft anything now, adding other mods that use the ankh shield can also use the Sanctus shield too

Hey ModdedNostalgia

One thing i did when I wanted to generate a world thats 25200 by 7200 (#x bigger than a large world) is do 25202 by 7202.

If you put the 2 at the end of the world height and width most of calamity's stuff goes away.
However if you run thorium and spirit alongside calamity you'll get the abyss bounds error again.

If you're just trying to generate a world with calamity and depths try using tmod ver 2025.4.3.0 and doing the 2 at the end. You could probably get it to generate a world up to 33602 by 9602.
Almost anything at 42002 by 12002 fails no matter what i do. lol

I made one world using calamity, thorium, and spirit classic but disabled the abyss then one world using only calamity and depths by itself. both worlds generated.

I used the same seed, and then using structure helper and dragon lens with the better zoom mod and copied the whole biome from one to the other.

Biggest gripe is I have to reset the chest loot but that doesn't bother me anyway.

Oh hell yeah nice! Yeah with the biome lava mod, using the Fancy Lighting mod alongside it reveals the lava inside the mercury anyway lol - I have to compromise with good lighting versus good looking fluids atm; I look forward to the liquid update though! By having the liquid be its own thing, it'll likely solve those kinds of issues and make other new game mechanics easier to develop.

Actually, Ive literally just been doing that last night
Ive ported all of quicksilver's stuff over to a library I am working on called ModLiquidLib. It'll release alongside an update with the depths that will include the quicksilver liquid

As for the lava issue, its a bug with calamity I have had fixed on their end for over a year now, but the sunken sea update has caused it to take a while to be released

On another note, have you considered using the fluid library for your mercury to separate it from the rest of the world's fluids? It'd probably be better than dynamically replacing lava with mercury depending on what side of the map you are on for a drunk world - especially for the visual effects - I still see the lava background for mercury (which is kinda painful to look at), and seeing it shift into mercury from lava and back when I cross the middle of the world is a bit weird. Moreover, I'd love there to be interactions with lava independent of water that creates a different material, and perhaps its own interactions with shimmer and honey as well...

Worth considering if you ever wanna rework that mechanic - having it be its own fluid instead of a version of lava opens up a lot of creative opportunity. Not to mention - you wouldn't be restricted if you want to use the fluid in another place (like for a mob farm).

I got it to generate. Yeah I know - "Scattering Silva's Remains" is most often where it crashes, but it does still generate. Just takes a lot of patience and willpower to make it happen. My biggest recommendation for extra large worlds with Calamity (since I've been doing this awhile) is to leave that 400 blocks on the end of the thousands value you want - there's a reason my world is 12400x4400 and not 12000x4000 - Calamity seems to like these values better...

bro im about to try this on drunk seed with calamity crag and stars above neon, but with a 12400 by 4400 map (extra large - often crashes on generation anyways) - i wanna see what kind of overlap happens and if it's playable... i'll be back if i manage to generate a map

what are you talking about...

1. quartz replaces obsidian entirely with its own set of items similar to the obsidian skull (quartz skull) and obsidian armour (quartz armour). Quartz also has the benefit of crafting other modded obsidian items. You also cannot get lava in a depths world unless in a drunk seed or using the fargos BoBW mod. You do not need obsidian apart from crafting hellstone in multiplayer, as either quartz or obsidian will only generate in mp.

2. There hasn't been a "mechanical" before, there's been a mod in development hell since this mod that adds a hallow alt based around mechanics, and a forum suggestion made back in 2014 called the cyber, but there hasn't been a mod similar to that.

cuz obsidian is required for the Obsidian Skull, Hellstone and also Obsidian Armor(Only pre-hardmode summoner armor iirc), tho tbf you can also make obsidian yourself with buckets of lava and water.

also didn't there used to be a mod like this that was also a Hallow alternative and was called The Mechanical or smth? this probably isn't the place to ask but I've checked on the workshop for it and cant find anything

hellstone and arquerite have been added to the ore shimmer chain. Shimmering cobalt -> arquerite -> hellstone -> crimtane

Can the Core Builder swap the hellstone furnace for the gemforge? I'm not seeing that option.

(Also: could possibly amp it up and allow for swapping all metals to their alternatives?)

currently there are not plans to make the mods compatible, there were some before I left the remnants discord for my own reasons but I dont think they will follow through
