Regarding visual effects, been so long I have no idea what to do
All unit mods were broken with the 5.2 update due to a change in the cdir_military_generator_unit_qualities_tables.
They now use text strings for the "Quality" column instead of numerical values.

A slave req for unit does sound nice.
I don't even get the unit icons on the landmarks when playing Cult of Pleasure. But when starting a quick Naggeond campaign I do see the unit icons. I installed the mod after starting the cult of pleasure campaign, could that be the reason for the not getting the units?
As for a Cult of Pleasure requirement maybe a high slave requirement of 150000 or so?
