I tried it out, it works normally for me, maybe you have another explosion mod active. Try sending a gif to see what happens from your end.

Oh yes, that was intentional. Since they're blasts of light, it didn't make too much sense for the mini impacts on the ground to be spread out like the explosions, so I just left them as they are.

@Cupcake no, it only changes the animation and sprites of the explosion. Now that the radius is visible, maybe it's easier for you to see if an explosion hits an enemy or not.

Does it make the explosion radius bigger? cuz i feel like it's easier to hit enemies with bomb with it

@radbunny this mod only modifies the animation and image files of the explosion, nothing else, so it should work safely in singleplayer. Maybe your achievements/files got temporarily lost because your Steam files got desynced with the cloud, glad to know you got them back though.

@. . . Yes, it's possible to keep only the bomb impact, you have to go to the mod folder, into resources, delete the bomb explosion anm2 and the effect explosion image inside gfx, leaving just the bomb radius image, also delete the reverse explosion anm2 from resources-dlc3.

i wonder if it's possible to make it so only the explosion aftermath / impact remains without the intiial explosion visual changing.

@Harrowquin yes, you need Repentance for it since it also uses the animation tool for the reverse explosions with the Inverse Tower card. You could, however, extract the sprites and just the base explosion animation file and replace them in your AB+ folder, not sure if it works with base Rebirth though.
If you try that, be sure to backup the original files before replacing them.

@Yaffie /Forevor\ that's weird, the mod itself only changes the spritesheet and the animation of the explosion, it shouldn't cause any issues, also, it seems like the crashes only happened to you, maybe it's conflicting with another mod you might have, maybe another one that affects explosions too, it's curious it only happens on the third floor, with third floor I assume you mean Depths/Necropolis, you might want to delete the mod completely from your instalation folder, unsuscribe and then re-suscribe to it.

@Motosman yeah I've noticed that with certain colored explosions the radius becomes too bright, I'll try your suggestion

so...i have been playing tboi and always crashed when getting to the third floor (doesn't matter alt or regular). i sorted through recent mods that i installed, and when i unsubscribed from this mod, my game stopped crashing. could there be any particular reason for that to happen or it's just some weird bug or incompatibility, coz when i install it back, my game keeps crashing for no reason

the flash is way too bright on tinted explosions, lowering the opacity of the flash by 20% fixes that issue.

@bobr SSS+ that's weird, you could try resuscribing to the mod, maybe it's because you don't have Repentance or you haven't unlocked the rights to use the mod (you must beat Mom at least once to be able to use mods), I can't think of other reasons.

@Valhallo, I'd recommend replacing it instead of deleting it, just go to your instalation folder, then go to the mods folder, and search better explosions, resources, gfx, effects and copy the effect_029_explosion.png file, then go back to mods, fiend folio, resources, gfx, effects and replace the file in there, that should do it.
